Hmmm an exclusive 2JZ-GE powered 4 door sport or a literal RWD Altima 2 door or 4 door.
Why would you be proud of a car with a motor you can find in the Altima, the Maxima, Murano, FX35, and a mommy mobile Quest? LOL. Nice car the G35 is yes, but I don't care for Japanese companies that are owned in conjunction with a car manufacturer owned by the French government. Or the fact that is was on the brink of bankruptcy. How sad is that. LOL

I love IS300s. It was a contender when I was car shopping, but the G35 came along and everything else was forgotten. Two of my friends drive IS300s, and I think they're great cars. The styling is a bit outdated to me now, and the powerplant just isn't there.

Apparantly they all bought their cars based on the Name and not the car... I never even considered the IS300, If I'm spending over 30 grand on a sports car it better have more than 215HP.
And do you really want a girl who pursues you because of what you drive?
Oh and It's spelled INFINITI

Well all i can say is that i've been getting lots of compliments on my new G35c. The IS300, in my opinion looks too plain and seems to look the same way as it did 5 years ago. As for the "Lexus" brand getting the girls attention, thats just BS. Most girls who would look at the IS300, would probably say "Is that a BMW?" All i know is that the girls absolutely love the G35. More than the IS300? Who knows and who cares.

The IS is an entry level Lexus whereas the G35 is a mid-level Infiniti. You guys are right, it's got a lot to do with personal preference but I will never understand why drivers of entry-level luxury car think they're special. Their car is just that...entry level.

I don't think girls go for an IS300 because they drive IS300's, every time I see one its a chick driving. I get in my G35 and I've gotton many of these on the road .

First, don't take any weight in it. Anything on a Lexus board is biased as well as the responses you wil get here. Here are not opinions, but experiences. My basic experiences with my coupe have been strange. I have owned a lot of cars in the last 10 years including a 90' Mustang coupe, a 86' Mustang SVO, a 97-point 89' Saleen Mustang(3 trophy winner), a Maxima, a Ford Ranger, a 00' Miata, a CRX Si and a 79' 911. I occassionally get comments from people, but a lot of looks, when I drive the 911. Usually it is older people talking about how they always wanted to own one.
Except for the Saleen, none of the others were of much interest. I occassionally got a comment about the Miata, but it was most often from older people. Since I had an almost flawless early Saleen hatchback (#89-030) from 95'-00' that was white with gray interior and white wheels; it was a beautiful looking car, but most people really didn't know what it was. All the time when I drove it around, people (men, women, young, old) would make comments about how nice the car was. This would happen almost daily. They would honk, wave or give me a thunbs-up while I was driving. If I was at a gas station filling up the car, people would walk up to me to ask about the car. I had a couple of times when the gas station attendents came out and met me. I even had once at the Rock Bottom Brewery that the parking attendent moved a Mecedes S-class out of a space in front of the door and parked my Saleen there so everyone could see it first. I had quite a few times when I was just sitting at a light and the person next to me would roll down their window and say "nice car" or make nice comments. This is the biggest thing I miss about the car since selling it.
Strangely, I get a lot of this with my coupe. I was not expecting this. It isn't as frequent as it was with the Saleen, but people(men, women, young old) come up to me and ask me about the car. It really surprises me how many people out there don't know what it is. They just know they like it and it looks exotic. I have 2 friends who bought G35's after driving mine and 2 more that are selling cars(MKIV Supra and an SC300) to buy them. I know 2 women who own own coupes and one sold her Corvette to buy it. I definitely can't say there isn't any chick appeal to the car. What suprises me about this is that anyone can just go down to a dealer and buy one. My Saleen was really unique. It took 3 months of searching and traveling across 2 states to find my low mileage unabused Saleen. So, you won't just see one that nice driving around. But, the G35 is just a common car to me. It just isn't to a lot of other people.
I can say this though; whenever I have been in a sedan loaner, I never get any looks or comments. I definitely agree that the sedan doesn't have the looks of an IS300. With my coupe I get looks on the street all the time, with the sedan I just blend in. No one looks my way. Unfortunely, I don't have the final answer for this since I don't personally know a single man or woman that is interested in either a G35 sedan or an IS300. I do know a couple people that like the SC430 though.

Wow
"""Well, it is very simple.
If you want power, go with the G35.
If you want look, go with the IS300.
"""
Got this off the IS300 forum...
I am speechless... yes it may be preference, but I can't see the IS300 in any other way expect a very pricey Civic with the Lexus emblem slapped on it.

IS300 has a lot of chic appeal,
i see a lot of chics driving them
as for attention grabbing cars, my 72 stingray gets a lot of panties to drop,
unfortunately, they are all from middle aged women!!!
my g35 gets all the hot asian girls!!
i however, have a girlfriend that doesn't really know what car i drive, and since she drives a nissan maxima and saw that i have a nissan skyline (rebadged) after i purchased an infiniti, she think i did it to make her feel better about her nissan, you know, cause mine looked better!!
notlown f got it right, why would you want a girl that wants your car anyway??
sometimes i take out the family clk convertible, i get girl asking whether it's a 320 or 430, that a red flag, cause they are only judging by price; they don;'t even know the difference

geez....
what stupid posts i've read.....if they're driving cars to 'impress' the girls, just go rent a Ferrari for a day and pull up to a club...
only thing i can say for the IS300 is that......it's got 4 doors, so it'll be easier for the 'girls' to get in and out....other than that...who gives a...well you know what.
