Both are, however, likely to be less than optimal outcomes unless annihilation is the objective.
The issue with brakes is balance of your relative bias for the particular car. There is a very decent and entertaining read of this from the tech series of articles published by StopTech:

Take a look at this, and read up carefully, before you make a decision on your upgrade choice.
Good luck.

Yep, it is possible. It is also possible to put a .45 up your nose and pull the trigger...and live to tell about it.

That was unexpected. I read the post and then read who made the comment. I guess we all get to witness Eagle1 in rare form...

The braking equation is very sensitive, and anything outside the window of properly set up braking can get very dangerous very quickly. I probably was grumpy over having to work this weekend!
More hp, usually no big deal. Changing the flywheel or clutch or even a lsd, same thing. Lowering springs, fine. And I think that everybody knows that with sway bars and dampers there are real issues and put some heavy thought into it. But brakes get to be another level, with bigger is better being a theme that is pursued but is not often correct. And of course wheels and tires are really really big stuff that often get sacrificed on the performance and safety side for looks. The fact is, with about 70%+ of the braking done on the fronts, most of the aftermarket folks focus on the fronts and will even tell you that the backs are not all that critical and tune their set ups using the brake power of the stock set left on the car! They sell back sets for street purposes, because there is a marketplace demand even though for performance it is not critical, and for track purposes because that is where a marginal increase is still a marginal increase and that matters in that environment.
I think that the brake upgrade made to my car is one of the absolute best things that I have done to it as far as performance is concerned (on the track). That and the suspension do more to make you go faster around the circuit than the increased hp, and that was drilled into me last weekend at Willow Springs big time.
Starcraft, it was meant in good humor and spirit, not as a knock, truly.
