Default Any G35 Couple owners have babies, etc....

...and transport them in their child seats in the back?

My wife and I are planning on having a little one in the next year and I'll most likely have to sell my 305z.

Anyone here have a little one they carry in the rear seats? How is the room? Possible for two little ones and associated crap?

I am in the same position as you and had my heart set on a coupe when I traded my Z. I think there would be enough room for a child seat, but there wouldn't be much room after that. The trunk is pretty small too. In the end, the coupe turned out to be just too small and I bought a sedan.

Darn kids. Leave it to them to ruin a good thing! A coupe would have been excellent, but the sedan is nice. Especially with the full aerodynamic body kit. Looks more aggressive and not as vanilla.

Don't tell me that! La la la la la la la la.....I can't hear you!

I looked at the backseat of one and it seemed roomy enough, but then I looked at the back of my Z, imagined seats infront of the crossmember, then realized that there would be NO trunk.

I am considering the G35 sedan, BMW 330i, Lexus IS300, Subaru WRX STi (ok, not as nice as the others, but still has the performance I want ), Volvo and Saab "sport" sedans.

This is not want I wanted to hear.

Ha ha! I know how you feel. I didn't want to hear it either. As I looked at the coupe, I kept trying to convince myself that it was big enough. Then reality set in.

If only I could afford to have three new cars.

I have a 4 year old and a 16 month old w/special needs equipment and all the other normal baby things and I have no issues packing all the stuff in the coupe - I have a 6sp.

With that said, it is more difficult to place the babies in their seat with the coupe. You need a strong back. It is also more difficult to pack - you need to be creative.

Also to be fair, my wife has an ML 320 benz sport ute that we use for trips to grandma's house or any prolonged driving. If the coupe was my only car it would be tough.

I don't have any kids... at least none that I claim/know of But I needed a bigger car because I'm moving to Columbia for grad school and needed more room. I sold my Z and got a G coupe.

I have a 10 year old and a 8 mo. old. They both fit comfortably in the back of my G coupe. However, I would not use the back seat for adults. I use the car on weekend trips to the mall with the family, fullsize stroller fits in the trunk. On long trips I use the MDX.
You can use the G most of the time. I hope your wife has a family vehicle.

My wife has a 2002 Nissan Exterra which takes care of the true family vehicle.

My spirits are a bit lifted after reading these messages. I'll check out the coupe with the wife one day.

Thanks all!

Yo,

I bought my 350Z right after we had our first kid. Must have been cursed from the getgo, though, and it's now totalled. Thus, my new car will be the G.

And on my test drive, we discovered that the rear-facing car seat we got when he was born fits JUST FINE! He went along on the drive just to make sure. I was able to scoot the driver's seat forward and stand inside the car while I got his seat adjusted, then scoot it back to discover I had too much leg room, and had to come forward again. That means there's actually more leg room in the G35C than in my wife's BMW 3-series.
