Crotch Rockets for Newbies
I've been getting a whole lotta questions about riding and what to get as a first time bike. Well, i'll try my best to help you guys.
In a sportsbike sense.. the Honda line of bikes are great for all types of riders and they are extremely reliable esp in the long run. Compared to almost all the other bike brands out there Honda has the least reported problems & some of the best feedback on performance & reliability. In general, you def. gotta stick to a more lightweight, reliable, easy to handle, smooth riding kinda bike. And POWER.. i can't stress on that enough. If you are a first timer with little or no experience on a monster of a bike.. DO NOT EXCEED 600cc as your first bike. I'd say safe range for newbies would be around 400-600cc. Anything over is like jumping into a ferarri after your permit. But hey, it all really depends on how safe you ride. So if you wanna be daring & get a 1000cc bike.. just know your limits & know the risks.
A good choice i'd say is the Honda CBR600F3 or even better the CBR600F4. If you're lookin into the F3.. you should def look into the F4. Not to say that the F3 is a bad bike.. it's just that the F4 has all that an F3 has but twice as better. The F4 has more power, weighs less, better brakes & suspension, quick steering, wider wheels & provides more feedback. The F4's new four piston brakes are a big improvement over the two piston units of the F3. The transmission is soo smooth and it's ridiculously easy to ride. However.. if you wanna get me started on what could possibly come after your first bike when you're ready for 600cc+... that's a whole different dimension. hahaha.. Just make sure you give yourself a good amount of time to practice/research before you make any decisions. After you FULL OUT outride your first bike & practically know it inside out... i'd say you'll be ready for the bigger & badder ones.
Ride safe.

Yeah of course nothing beats Ducatis!! Hahaha.. But i'm basing this on a more realistic & affordable sense for first time riders. Ducatis are like the porsches of bikes! Maaan, i'd buy 999 in a heartbeat. Just the name gets me hot. hahaha..

What about the mileage on bikes? Say you were getting a used bike, how many miles is too many? Is it comparable to a cars miles?

By the way, this should be in the Vehicles forum.

2004 DUCATI 999 - Red / bronze wheels(single seat)
2001 DUCATI MONSTAR 600 flat black/black
1967 Ducati ---- something forogot the name.... we are restoring it as of now. so its still in peices.
2001 DODGE RAM pick up... to carry the bikes.
Future plans as far as bikes go... to get a 996 or 916 or both and a few older models.
Car wise.... Porsche Turbo
All bikes are have vented clitches on them as well as modified plate holders. After this winter... i'm swaping out all his exhausts and other body panels with CF parts. what can i say i'm a working ***** for him
Why aren't any of the obvious beginner sportbikes such as the EX500 or SV650 mentioned here? Believe me the F4 is a great bike (I own one), but with around 95HP at the rear wheel it can get a newbie rider in trouble real quick. Modern 600 Supersport bikes lull you into a false sense of security with their competency, making it easy for a newbie to ride well over their capabilities. Starting out on a bike that lets you reach its performance limits at much lower speeds helps to lessen the learing curve. The F3 and F4 are OK starter bikes, but there are better choices for the beginning rider.
And as much as I love bikes, what does this have to do with G35s?
