G45? Is Infiniti stepping up?
So I had gone out with my ex-girlfriend for some lunch, just decided to hang out. I hear some people talking about how "Infiniti is stepping up to the plate and possibly bringing out a G45 to compete against the S4 & M3." My initial reaction to this was
+
but the more I think of it, seems kind of non-Infiniti like, to put a 4.5 liter engine into a V6 engine. What do you guys think. BS or Possibly true. I call this BS!

It'd be good if Infiniti comes out with their own perfomance division...maybe a branch of Nismo....to compete with the likes of AMG, BMW M's, and Audi S's......I've heard Lexus will soon have their own performance division around 2005-2006 with perfomance models of the LS and IS to come out......

E90 M5 is almost out so I doubt they are being discontinued. V10 500 hp. There is supposed to also be an M6.
However, depending on how the new GT-R is, I may rather pay $70k for the GT-R vs >$80k for the M5.

I wonder if the GT-R will have quality as bad as the G35's. For 70k I would definitely go German. The GT-R will be awesome once it hits the States, but I don't think it will have the OH SH*T factor that the R34 does. I mean, how many times do you guys come across an R34?
My G35C has 43000 miles with the only service issue being a slow leak from the valve gasket. It was replaced in a few hours, I had a loaner as well as a great cup of tea. What quality issues do you have?
My dealership sells, Porsche, BMW, MB, Honda and of course Infiniti. Most cars in for service are MB and BMW, a few Porsche and Hondas and about the same Infiniti. My brother-in-law has a 330ci. He paid approximately $9,000 more, but got free routine service and a hat. Big deal. Infiniti has a great quality, except for the ugly box SUV.
One last thing, BMW used to have a great resale value. It may still do well, but the G does better. I have always liked BMW, but most people buy these for the name and to keep up with the Jones's.
I am waiting for more power for the G. In 2007, my oldest son begins to drive. I will pass on the G to him and, with luck, buy an awd G?? 6mt that has great usable power and attractive looks. Intoxicating.
But, sigh, only time will tell. Come on Infiniti/NNA pour on the sport to our sports car!

Heck, even Consumer Reports is saying American reliability is surpassing German (it's close). But, none of them are anywhere near Japaness reliability.
As far as the GTR costing $70-$80k, lets just hold off on speculation. I have a feeling it will be in the $50's. But, no one has any clue.
i have a 04 coupe and a 03clk320conv. the benz sucks asssss; i've so many problems with it i can't even count anymore, from the speedo not working to the interior dash falling apart, to the seats not moving back to the trunk not opening, for a 55+German car, it sucked majorly
