I'm currently a 350z owner, but due to a plethora of problems I may switch to a 2005 G35 coupe. The most significant reason being that my car was recently in a bad accident (11k damage) and does not drive the same after being repaired; the steering feels very sluggish, the tires are feathered (rotation / realignment did nothing), dealer wont give me new tires, lots of interior noise after accident, rear axel clicking, to list a few.
When taken in for service, my reciept stated "Mechanic could not find problem" when addressing the rear axel clicking, grease streaks, and steering issue. BS! Needless to say, resolving these issues hasn't been a pleasant experience.

Anyways, unless I can be assured the 2005 Z will correct ALL of these issues I will probably get a G35 coupe.

The 2005 G35 looks very tempting...So, I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you could answer

1) Does the G35 Coupe have any issues with feathering/alignment?

2) Anyone who has owned/driven a Z, how does the Z compare to the G35 coupe in ride quality/stiffness?

3) Is the Nismo cat-back exhaust fully compatable with the G35 coupe? Would I need to do any extra work to fit it?

4) Nismo CAI ^ same Q as above.

5) How are your experiences with Infiniti dealerships in general?

6) Are there any pictures yet of the new colors being offered in 05 or the new 19" wheels?

Yes, some G35C has tire feathering issues but not as widespread as the Zs.

I've owned a Z before which I totalled. To honestly tell you, the Z drives like a true sports car with it's stiffness whereas the G drives like a sports sedan(more comfort, not as stiff). The G is built a bit more refined, but still has problems simliar to the Z but not as bad and widespread. The G has the interior rattles, and some even have the problems with the windows, etc...

No, the Z's Nismo Cat-back exhaust is not compatable with the G35c. Nismo do make an exhaust for the G35c for about $100 more.

The Z's CAI is compatible with the G35c, but you have to cut out some impact foam for the filter to fit.

Similar to Nissan dealers, you'll run into some good and some bad Infiniti dealers too. The upside is you get a loaner car evertime you bring your car in to service.

Not too sure about the new 05 colors, but there is a picture of the new 19" wheels on the forum. Do a search for 05 changes.
