What do you guys think? I'm debating on what exhaust to get and how loud it should be. I really love the Injen exhaust look, but i'm afraid it will make my car sound like a honda with a fart can, which is not what I want.

If you didn't own a g35 and you saw one cruising around with a loud exhaust, would you consider that ricey?


I love the sound of our stock exhaust because it doesn't sound like other japanese cars, but I hate the way the muffler looks now...

 

GReddy or RSR Look into them. If you want the stock look and somewhat sound look into the Fuji's. Pro-1's are gonna be your loudest. Just from what I've picked up from being here for less than a month. I have the GReddy SP2's and love them.

go into the engine forum and look for a post on the Pro-1 exhaust by ZISBAK. He had a video up, not sure if it's still there. I sold and installed his exhaust, and it sounds exactly like mine tho he has a Z.

 

the Greddy is nice - it has a great sound w/ the resonated test pipes, but the look is not for everyone (visable canisters, huge 4 1/4" tips) - it's nice and aggressive and doesn't sound like anything else on the road - I can't wait until I get my Pro-1 headers installed to see what they are going to do to the sound... don't go with a canister style muffler then. Look into a borla, stillen, nismo, fujitsubo

 

what does canister sytle mufflers have to do with the way it sounds?

I'm planning to get the Injen because it looks so damn sharp with the g35 rear.

 

get what u want. if you want the canister look then go for it. who cares what people think or if they think its rice.

Loudest exhaust I've heard is the RS*R but it comes with silencers so you can tone it down whenever you want which is cool too. It sounds great either way to be honest, just depends what kind of mood you are in

 

haha. 22 and yes, I am viet...The only canister style I like is the injen because its still clean look. The rsr/top speed is too coffee can for me and the rest are too much like stock..

 

I JUST HAD FUJISUBO CAT BACK AND y PIPE INSTALL.
It really quite, to me it's just feel like stock.
the sound and power coming out after 4000 rpm.
and i notes after the exhaust install the intake it's louder too.
sound so good.

Moog: What did you pay for your Pro-1 exhaust? I checked out that thread and his z sounds way good. Is it too loud though? What about on the freeway. I just don't want something that is going to be anoying, but when I get on it I want it to sound mean. Overall thoughts on the exhaust?

Summer has been good. I'm not actually adding headers. I sold a set to bwzabodyn . When is NOPI? I haven't heard much from the DFW crew lately. It feels like the group has disbanded.

 

I paid $0 for my exhaust I have the prototype on my car. Yes it is loud...with the silencers removed its VERY LOUD. too loud? that is subjective though...some people like it, some people don't. You should try to find someone in your area w/ an RS*R, Pro-1, or Invidia exhaust to listen in person.

 

I wish there was someone in my area with any mods on a g. Or a z. It sucks here. haha. Thanks for the input though.
