i have the RSR exmag II on my car. without the silencers, they are really loud... but i just love the deep drones and popping noises (tiny bits of backfire?) during decel.
with the silencers, the sound is very tame...
Look into the Tanabe SHM as well, it does have 4 1/2 inch tips they come from a single muffler, no cans. I think it sounds awesome with test pipes. Remember that loud is not always ricey, jsut find a clip of any Ferrari and you'll know what I mean.
I got a Z so I dont know that my opinion counts but I say go with the NISMO. I m very happy with mine. Looks awesome sounds awesome. Its louder than stock but not rice loud and certainly does not sound like a Honda Fart Can. If you like the exhaust note now then the NISMO is the way to go as it will ad some bass to the note along with a little more throaty growl. This is the best looking and sounding exhaust if you ask me and I get lots of compliments on the road. Here is a link to a video(credit to Chebosto on the vid) that has a good audio of my exhaust. I am in front for the first 1/2 of the Video. Chebosto is the camera car. Anyway, at the time I only had a PopCharger and NISMO Exhaust. Turn te sound up and you should hear it as soon as the Video starts. Hope this helps in your decision.

Damn It! Rice does not = $1000 Exhaust no matter how loud it is.
Rice = canaster welded to 1 1/2" piping
0r
Rice = 91 Accord running only stock headers
Get the damn Ingen, you know it looks Ill!

my exhaust system is quite loud...strup headers, helix test pipes, tanabe y-pipe and ultra medallion exhaust...and it's LOUD!!! It sounds deep and throaty, and if I had to relate it to another car...it would sound like a bimmer with an aftermarket exhaust system. the test pipes give off an obnoxious rasp...been contimplating with reinstalling the catalytic converters.
If your more worried about the "looks" of an exhaust thats already kinda ricey
Sound is subjective and its really personal prefrence on the waves you want to hear
A healthy V6 will never sound like an inline 4cyl so why even compare it to a Honda
Injen is loud as hell and a little raspy ---- the Tanabe sounds smooth and agressive
But the guy who was running the Injens was a drag racer and the tanabe owner was a couch racer
IMO the tanabe was a nice balance of fit, finish, sound
The injen sounded like a VQ with straight pipes and small mufflers --- loud, raspy and powerful --- very nice from inside too
My guess is power isnt your goal so stick with the mellow exhausts like tanabe etc... that are smooth and have more sound deading properties
