Default High flow cats or not?

Attention all G owners with high flow cats:

For those of you who are required to do emissions testing yearly or bi-yearly, how will the cat converters affect my results? I’d like to eventually add high flow cats but I’m concerned it’ll cause me to fail emissions….is this true or not??

Depends on what pipes you get.

My helix test pipes will not pass at they do not filter any gas..leading me to fail emissions for when they stick the rod down your exhasut or something and test for the amount of carbon monoxide let from your car.

Some RT cats, are legal, some arent. Just contact the company or seller and ask if they are legal or off road use only.

Hope this helped. I could be wrong about the emissions test, but thats what I'm guessing.

Default CATS

I have heard that even with CAMS (ie JWT S1) both the Crawford and Kinetix will pass. I currently have a Crawford Plenum and CATs. I had a sniffer test run in Ca. and it passed with alot of margin. These CATs don't look all that differnt from the OEM CATs to the "casual" observer. But whatever you use, keep your OEM CATS around, you may need them some day.

But see with Crawford are the high flow, and filter area. With Helix and Stillen pipes they are just pipes, nothing else. Thats how you can tell alot of time if they are legal or not.

Default CATs

Yeh with Test pipes you'll never pas the sniffer test. With HF CATs it's very possible. The OEM CATS are "enourmous" emissions over-kill (dual chamber design).

If you get H/F Cats, do not get RT Cats since they sound like a raspy tin can. I am actually having my RT Cats remove and putting back the stock cats.

I have Crawfords and can't complain.
Since Kinetix has worked out their fitment issues, they
are probably the best currnet value. Neither Craw or Kinetix have a rasp. I don;t beleive UR does either. They seem pretty nice , but cost more.

I had the test pipes on and they sounded like raspy tin cans, once I removed and added RT cats the sounds is now smoothed mean.
