Those are 2 completely different cars, I dont see how you cant make up your mind...and how the hell are you leaning toward a TL. Sure there great cars..but nothing compares to a Z or a G.

Just kidding about the newbie picture

Are you talking about a G35 coupe or Sedan? Either way these are both rear wheel drive, go test drive a G you'll like it, and appreciate the rear wheel drive. The G35x is also a neat car with AWD.

Stick with the auto tranny and you will have no problems, the only problems I had with my Z (which was an auto) was the grease streaks and the tire feathering. Apparently the G35 coupe only has tire feathering, I haven't heard of grease streaks.

Smooth, graceful lines and class-leading power make the 2005 3.2-liter Acura TL both an object of beauty and a force to be reckoned with. An aluminum-alloy, V-6, 270-horsepower engine and 4-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension system give this high-performance sedan its true-exhilaration credentials. Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with traction control is just one of the few attributes that endow the TL with such remarkably crisp handling. And for those performance-driving enthusiasts with the most exacting standards, the A-SPEC™ Kit is available to satisfy your every demand.

I know for a fact the G35 coupe has it. As far as the sedan, I do not know.

how did the dealer deal with it? From what I read the 350z people found it frustrating tring to dealers to fix the problem. Again much thanx for the help Hraesvelg.

All this happened before I bought the car, I just knew it had brand new tires on it when I got it. Infiniti will probably be a little cooler about fixing things since it's a "luxury car"

Well I had the same decision as you. I love the new TL but what drove me to the G35 is the rear wheel drive and the globs of torque we have. Coming from an S12 (86 200SX CA18DET) then to a S13 (SR20DET) I love rear wheel drive and how fun it can be drifting corners. Also I don't need a 4 door yet since Im still young. The TL is more comfortable and more of a family car to me. Im still young and want the sexiness of a 2 door.

I believe the TL is very realiable if your reffering to the TL in your comment above. Everyone I know that has a TL (new or old) has had no problems.

I could even be skeptical about the VQ since its not really that old compared to lets say the RB or the SR or hell even the KA. One engine I really didnt like was the VG I didnt like to work on it

but one thing I would like to see would be an iron block. I love at how strong they are but they are quite heavy.

If it were me, and I was going to get a 4 door. I would go with the TL. Don't get me wrong. I love my coupe and probably wouldn't trade it for the TL. But if it were a 4 door I was looking for, the TL would be my choice. Keeping in mind that I am a true Honda/Acura guy with a nissan/infiniti additude. I've owned numerous cars of both manufacturers and I can't choose one over the other.
When it really comes down to it, I like the styling of the TL more.

I love the TL... but made the mistake of test driving a TL right after testing the g35.... big mistake... sigh I want a G35 now... but rather make a wise decision.

as far as the engine reliability goes, VQ is excellent.

My maxima ran strong for 120,000miles plus, with no leaks or any major problems. people say Hondas make reliable engines. true. but Nissan also makes a good one too.

Didn't the VQ get in the 10 top engines of the year for several years?
