Default HF Cats: Kinetix or Crawford??

Okay... as far as I've heard people talking about Crawford products (namely their headers) they are works of art, and put out power like none other. However, i've also heard some very good things about the Kinetix high flow cats as well.

If this was a question about the headers, I would definately go with the crawfords because I have heard countless people on these forums say that they are the cream of the crop. As far as the high flow cats go, though, how much difference is there between the crawfords and the kinetix (besides the $100).??

What he said! Also the workmanship on the Crawfords is top notch. A real quality product.

I've got the Kinetix hf cats. No fitment issues whatsoever. Very well made.

i had an old set of kinetix cats on, and they caused my borla dual to rattle. i got a new set, but have not gotten the chance to get them installed yet. if these do the same, i quit.

My kinetix cats fit like crap, and both of them actually cracked because of it. They were also raspy even before the cracking.

Now people say that these issues were corrected, so this may not be the case any longer, but that is my experiance.

As soon as I got my set of Crawfords and put them on, I noticed much more power then with the Kinetix. Also, once again, that is before the cracking occured.

With the Crawfords, they bolted right up, no touching the heat sheilds, and no rasp. They also looked like better quality to me.

Once again, that is my experiance and these issues may have been corrected as people are claiming. Kinetix is a great company to work with and while I did not have any luck with their products, I did get treated well and promptly.

Nobody has mentioned anything about power outputs...
Do these two both put out relatively the same amount of power?

I think booger answered that question above. The Crawford's flow a little better, so a little more power. Probably not noticeable though.

They will all be nearly the same..

Also, if you re-read my post, you will see that I said I felt more power with the Crawfords then I did with kinetix.

Yes, I read your post and understood what you meant. It was actually one of the ones that further motivated me to post asking about the power outputs. Sorry if I was unclear-- I meant if anyone knew anything about their power outputs in terms of specific HP. Like how much they put out on the dyno.

If they are all that close anyway, I guess it really doesnt matter though. Craftsmanship and longevity are more important than, but it has to be balanced with price. This is gonna be a tough one.

Dyno's range in HP readings anyways. Dyno the same car on a different day at the same dyno and you may come up with something else. Dyno the same car on a different syno and you may come up with something else. These parts will make almost the same power and a dyno isnt accurate enough to be able to tell IMO.

Kinetix might make more on one car or one dyno, while Crawford might make more on another.

But you are right, you should just get which ever one you feel the best buying for your own reasons.
