I heard a rumor that they are going to instruct all customers to 'lose their Stillen headers' before installing. I thought it was crazy, but you never know..

Why would you have to lose your headers for?

I dont think anyone will wan't to put the engine cover on when they have this plenum installed.

Do you have a price range of what it will be going for?

Holy shift thats a nice G! Sick wheels bro. I heard it was an upper and lower manifold and was just wondering if headers were involved. If you don't know, you don't know.

Thanks , You should be able to keep your headers, I dont see how a plenum could effect the headers. Not sure but you may have a problem with the piping coming from the intercooler to the throttle body unless this plenum is designed to keep the TB in the same locaton, Hopefully it is.

no there are no removal of headers needed.

a "plenum" is the chamber for air the intake runners draw from.

This is a manifold, which consists of plenum and runners

It will look nothing like our plastic plenum, and it doesnt look like th "coffin" manifold I have seen pics of

Hey Robert. Do you have any idea on price yet? Also, you have said in the past that you would take a trade in on your other plenum towards the purchase of this one. Is this still the case? If so, how much would this cost with a trade in of a V4 plenum? Sorry for all the questions.

I think I am confused. Would you use this piece in conjuction with a plenum on top. Reason I am asking is because the regular kinetix plenum puts out 17 rwhp. This only puts out 12.

I would love for someone to explain....

I have not heard of gains as high as mentioned(17 HP). This is an interesting question. Robert?? I know that some dont recommend using the plastic plenum with F/I, but I know some are currently doing so.

Before we get some more solid numbers from various sources, we wont make claims regarding performance versus our V4 plenum.

Also remember this manifold is a compromise between high RPM NA and FI manifold. It will definately outperform our V4 in FI due to the slightly larger runners, and also slightly shorter runners.

This is also a more efficient design so throttle response will be better, and boost may come in slightly faster in FI

So a 6hp peak at where?

Then you mentioned a 12hp gain at 6000+. That sounds well and all but in order to take advanage of your new manifold or upper/lower penlum we would have to basically increase our rev limit to 7200+. But as we all know, our rods are not strong enough to do that much duration at anything above 7000rpm.

So in order to take full advantage of this new product we will have to do some extra engine work to re-enforce the weak point in our motor? That is going to be costly.

Without proper engine work and leaving the ecu untouched the 12hp gain at 6000+rpm will only last for 500rpm since we redline at 6500.

Which would you advise use to buy if one does not have enough money or want to spend that much time to re-enforce our weak points in our egine to go past 6000rpm safely?

I know its sounds as if i already answered most of my questions but perhaps there is additional information to be speak that was not noted earlier.

Please chime in Kenetix Racing. Thanks!

In all honesty if I was going to mildy mod my 350z with most of your basic bolt ons (intake, exhaust, hi-flow cats, and possibly headers) I would say go with the v4 in plastic. The price increase may not be justifiable, especially if you already have a V4.

True, this new manifold would benefit even more with a rev limit increase, which is not too uncommon with all the reflashing being done. Also remember this manifold will really start to shine with FI setups. The initial goal was to make good FI gains, then we decided to try and still give it a place in NA applications.

Also a point to notice is an increase in throttle response.

The piece is also considerably mroe expensive than our V4 unit, but will also really set you apart from others in terms of looks, which is important for some.
