UR Cats sound like crap. I had them on for 2 days and immediatly took them off. The car was very very lound and sounded like a honda with a 4" tip. Don't recomned at all.

Me too.....not a single customer has ever contacted us regarding the sound. I have a titanium exhaust on my own car as well as UR's Y pipe (3 inch outlet) and the car is still nowhere near as loud as most others

I heard that about the RT cats many times on here. Perhaps he meant those?

Default Hey Adam..

your setup sounds alot like the one I was thinking of getting. The Y pipe, UR cats but with the stock exhaust.

Some of the other threads I've read suggested that I might also need a B pipe as well because of the 3 inch outlet. Do you have any thoughts on that?

really? wow. i have the ur cats and i love them. during the first 2-3 minutes of driving there is a slight rasp until the cats warm up. then they sound VERY smooth.

as far as it being louder, they are quieter than the rt's for sure. actually, i dont think it is loud at all.

maybe because of our different set ups, but i am very happy with mine.

japtrix makes a b-pipe that tapers down to fit a stock muffler. that is what my friend had on his car. however, the japtrix website is down for construction and i forget the contact person on this forum. try doing a search because i remember that info was listed.... kind of recently actually.

I think you would be totally fine with the stock B pipe actually - its so far back in the stream and it would be going larger-smaller

Direct bolt on for all the high flow cats availble for the Z...

By the way... re-use your stock gaskets... They are much better then the paper gaskets that blow out and melt clutch lines

Go Crawford. Zero rasp and a quality build. I have had both RT's and Crawfords. The RT's collapsed. I can post pics off the dead cats.

Another vote for Crawford. Their build quality is second to none. They are the premier "Z" and "G" tuner house in the country. They know and only sell what works.

i have a pair of Kinetix cats on my G right now... i have been happy with them performance and sound wise, but the fitment was not very good.

i get a very annoying vibration (although it is possible i got an early set that didn't have all the kinks ironed out.

at my last trip to the dealer my mechanic spotted a tear in the outer skin of the driver's side cat and the exhaust is leaking out. he told me not to bother switching them out just yet as i will be doing a header install soon.

i am currently debating on either a switch to crawford cats or putting the stockers back on.

i am going to get my Topspeed/Pro1 headers installed this month, so i'm trying to figure out my cat situation so that they can put those on while they do the headers

Just a note, the Crawfords are built with "Walker" CATS and
and Kinetix are built with "Carsound" CATs . A buddy of mine runs a muffler shop an staes that Walkers should last a little longer.
Just an FYI.

if i want to a simple set-up. would crawfords and possibly injen or rsr exhaust be a decent set-up? or would i need y-pipe, headers to make it more efficient? i just don't want to go too crazy.
