I actually thought it sounded pretty good, didn't really notice any raspiness. Just worried about how loud it is. I really like the design and the price is reasonable right now but i dont know. I've actually been driving with the silencers in for a long time now so i'm guessing the HKS would be louder than the RSR with the silencers?

The HKS with hf cats is probably louder than the RSR with silencers...but thats just a guess.

Update: The tone is getting deeper as the exhaust is being broken in. I dont even listen to the stereo anymore since the sound is so sweet!

I had a set of Flowmaster mufflers on my old TA and it was extemely loud in the cabin which I did not like at all. Is the exhaust sound very loud inside your car? I wasn't really able to tell in the clip. I already have kinetix resonated test pipes and waiting to get the PE TT kit installed, will this increase or decrease the sound level?

As far as i've heard once you go FI, it tends to quiet the car down some.

No dyno yet. I will be getting one in a little over a week. Probably wont do much good for determining the power of the HKS though considering the other mods I have and my lack of a baseline

Does the exhaust meet sound regulation of 95 db @ 4000 rpm? It sounds awesome...but i'm worried it will attract cops.

Id venture to guess its louder than 95db with hf cats/TP's. I drove by a cop in a speed trap (I spotted him well before I got there) last week and found myself shifting around 2000 rpms to avoid any unnecessary attention!

Also do those extra cansiters to stop raspiness limit some power in any way?

HKS says the the Hi-power is noise complaint. Although I'm sure with high flow cats that becomes otherwise. Apparently the one with the canisters is better performance wise says the HKS rep.

Just one question on this kit. It looks really good, but the pipes look quite low in the picture in your sig. Have you lost any ground clearance with this? Lots of speed humps near me

I think thats just the angle of the pictures. You should be fine unless you are lowered a lot

DJK,
Once you find a way to secure the tips (make them dirty thief proof) please let us know how you did it. Thanx

Some ppl have asked me for some pics of the exhaust from a distance. I snapped off a few crappy pics today so I figured Id post em.

I also dynoed the car a month or so ago. Dyno charts are listed in my sig. Mods at the time of the dyno were:

JWT intake
Crawford Plenum
UR Crank Pulley
Kinetix Cats
HKS Exhaust

Dyno was performed on a Dynojet with 19x10 inch rear wheels with 285/35 Falken GRB-451s tires.

Dyno was at sea level in 4th gear (my car is 6MT) with the temp about 60 degrees and it was raining.

Here are the pics!

PS: I know the links to the videos are down.

edit:

Here are a couple links to my dyno (hosting courtesy of HanZolo). Right click, save as please:
