I will be getting HF cats soon and would like to hear a soundclip of the Borla with the addition of high flow cats if anyone has one.

Now that I have the cats on I will try to get a clip up. My car sounds alot meaner btw.

If you like the sound of the Borla but feel like there is "something" missing, then get some Crawford cats. It's not a night and day difference but it really enhances the tone of the exhaust and makes it growl. Under load it sounds much better. I would say in terms of sound, if the Borla with the stock cats is a 7 then with the Crawfords its a 9. As for the power increase you will notice a quicker throttle response and a noticable improvement in how the car pulls from 3500 rpm to redline. It just feels and sounds better.

 

If someone can tell me how to record a sound clip i have Random Tech High Flow CATS with Borla True Duel....Sounds great by the way but after ready your last post I might switch to Crwford CATS...hmmm i dont know

 

Would love to hear as I am leaning toward this combination. Just bought the Crawford cats and now an exhaust is in the future.

-me revving the motor from inside the car with the door open....as you can see the lights suddenly cut out because i used the remote start and didnt put the key in before revving her up....hehe. and i didnt feel like being out there longer so i ran back inside! hope the vid is decent.

 

oh and just a note: i have the kinetix plenum, nismo intake, borla td, and crawford cats

 

Sounds good but the rev door open clip keeps cutting in and out. any how it sound damn good.

i wish i would have made a soundclip when my resonators were removed from my Borla TD. when i added my Kinetix resonated testpipes i heard no difference at all in sound but i have no rasp at all either! knowing i had 2 sets of resonators between the Borla & Kinetix i decided i wanted to remove the set from the borla. WOW, what a difference it made. same deep tone & borla sound just alot louder at all rpms including idle. after a while i decided i missed the cleaner lower db Borla sound & reinstalled the resonators....hehe, now im thinking of removing them once again, may be an every 6 months event just to change things up, lol!
moral of the story? if you feel that "missing link" feeling from your Borla exhaust, remove the resonators, it gives a whole new meanging to the Borla sound!!(you can always reinstall them)

How do you remove the resonators? Is it difficult?

 

Oh, and for the record, the soundclips do NO justice in conveying the actual sound of this combo. My car sounds like it means business!
