i ran crawford cats with my stock exhaust for a while and there was a definate increase in hp....and the sound was a little deaper. i think this is a great mod for the money...great fitment, quality and customer service.

Yeah, I find the stock exhaust really never gets too loud no matter what you do prior to it. I've found that aftermarket exhausts, though, can *really* gain a ton of volume with even minor changes, such as adding just high flow cats.
