Once I installed all my new pipes, the resonance makes it a lot more pronounced! It sounds like a metal bolt vibrating against the plastic or maybe even the metal . . .

There is a thread on this site that actually has a pretty good list of rattles & fixes that may help you out. Kind of lazy to look for it now but if you search for key word "rattle", I'm sure you'll find it.

That sounds exactly like what happened to me. Fitament seemed great when I was under the car, but as soon as I started it I heard the slight rattle. I just need to get under the car and see where I need to make a little more clearance. I hope I get to use my cut off wheel.

what do you guys mean by rattle? Is it a constant rattle? Or an occasionally "popping" sound from the pipes hitting each other? I'm having this sound that sounds like a pipe is hitting another (usually at idle) but it only happens every few seconds. I had this when my car wast stock but it seemed to be a little bit louder now w/ my fuji...

You can't miss the loud obnoxious rattle . . . Although your Y pipe appears to have a little room at the flanges, once the engine revs or torques up a bit, the flange may smack against the car itself. It's not an occasional pop.

Not sure though if this is the same as what you guys were hearing. As far as the sound goes, it sounds fairly the same until you pounce on the gas. Then it'll sound like a totally different beast . At least, that is how it sounds like with my Fujitsubo setup. I do, however, noticed some droning at the higher rpm range when I attended a meet/drive in my area. But then again, we were WOT'ing everywhere . Overall review, I'd say it's a good mod with a noticable increase in HP/TQ. Sound is not intrusive depending on what exhaust setup you have.
Hi GT,

I have the same exhaust you do and I am doing a header and Helix cat install next week. What RPM's did the droning start. Does it drone at steady highway speeds. Right now at 80MPH it's relatively quiet and tolerable so I want to know if that will be the case once the header/cats are on.

thanks

Not sure how the dbs are with the headers but the droning starts when you hit around 3K RPMs & is fairly steady. Depending on your preference, some may find this annoying. To me it sounds fine since I expected this with HF Cats but to someone else, it may be too much. At 80MPH, you'll definitely hear some drone. I'm sure since you'll be installing headers, It'll be louder than mine. If noise is your concern, I'd slap on the cats first and test drive it before you slap on the headers. If it's too loud for you just with the cats, then it'll definitely be way too loud for you once you slap on the headers. I'm personally holding off on the headers since I may be going with a TT kit in the future. If you're going for SC, on the other hand, then a good set of headers are good. Just something for you to think about since header installs are not cheap .
