Default Z vs 05 Mustang

Check out the new Evo Magazine comparing a 300hp V8 automatic Mustang vs. the Z(European version at 276hp).While the Mustang had better times the Z was rated at 4.5 out of 5 while the Mustang was rated at 3.5 out of 5.Many other great reading and comparison tests.

The Z is across the board in terms of reviews

Some say it's fast, other's say it's slow

some say it has great handling, others say it isn't that great

A recent issue of some car magazine where the Z came in 8th place or whatever said the Z feels slow, doesn't handle that well, and is really luxurious/comfy

a few pages later there's a different article where the Z is mentioned as being a really hardcore car that's not suitable for long distance road trips because of it's lack of comfort/luxury

So what the hell does that mean?

it means everyone has an opinion depending on their needs

The Z is definitely a better built car, and out handles and out brakes the GT. A drag race would be a toss up, and would most likely come to driver skills. I'd love to see a GT manual vs a 300hp 6-speed Z in a drag race.

The fastest time I saw on the Z and 05 Stang were in Motor Trend. Z did 13.7@101 and Stang did 13.5@103 both manual. The auto GT did 13.6@100.So with the 300hp Z it should be close.

Dont forget the new 300HP Z also loses 14 ft lbs of TQ...that may play into the drag times.

That 14 loss is nothing compare to the S2k having almost no torq. But it still could keep up with a Z. Also the 300hp Z revs to 7k rpm which will help alot.
