Default test pipes

does adding test pipes help performance on a n/a motor? whats the difference between straight through pipes and resignated pipes? and which kind should i get? if i have a test pipe.. can the cops tell without looking at the cats?

Yes. Resonated have a "filter". Non-resonated have nothing. Resonated are quieter than non-resonated and don't have a "drone". So it's up to you. Doubt it, but if they suspect you do, and they look, you are probably "busted".

Yes, they will help! Cops cant tell unless they look under the car, but if they know about cars, they will be able to tell by the smell. These cars run fairly clean, but you can still always sniff that gas smell. Also, Kinetix resonated test pipes are fantastic, no complaints.

okay... now if you have HI-FLOW cats, can the smell still be dected by nose?

Dont even worry about it, I have helix test pipes and you can tell if you drive your car hard and then come to a stop. But if a cop would pull you over, just say you got a new exhaust and its from the burning oil inside the exhaust cause its new.

Helix test pipes sound nice, as long as u dont have to take emissions for a bit, youll be fine

Personally, I'm not too fond of the drone with my Helix test pipes . . . and I have a TT which tends to muffle the sound. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone either the hi flow cat or resonated pipe route . . .
