Jason, when you say "sound" do you mean the exhaust or the Pop Charger whistling sound.
I could care less about the whistling, but better exhaust tomes are always welcome.
Thanks

IMHO I think the JWT popcharger is a great investment and mod. to the Z. I was able to pass the speed limiter (156mph) and the throttle is a little more responsive. Plus I think you can't go wrong with it, b/c it's a bang for it's buck and has done numbers of 6.5hp to prove it.

That's the way I'm leaning. I heard they are noisey..Vin talks about a "whistling" air filter? A better exhaust note would be nice. My Borla is still prettyn tame. Is the 6.5 HP gain proven or just what their ad says? Thanks!

I sincerely doubt it will gain 6.5hp, much less 3hp.

The whistling noise is true but I think it sounds awesome and yeah it gets really loud over 4k rpm's. It sounds so aggressive and might I add again you will feel a little bit more throttle response. You will also notice an increase or decrease on gas mpg depending on how much you open the throttle and how often. Here are the dyno numbers for the JWT Popcharger ~~~> http://www.nissanparts.org/images/jwt/dyno.jpg

Nissan Performance Magazine tested the JWT popcharger... said it had better gains than any other intake they had tested, even CAI's that cost $350. I believe they got about 6 RWHP, but I don't remember the exact number.

Sorry...just don't see a different filter and heat shield producing 6hp...3hp at the most.

Say one filter flows up to 800 CFM, and the other flows up to 400 CFM. Say the engine at max RPM's/throttle needs 600-700 CFM, stock. Any questions?

Isn't it hard to test CAI's on a dyno due to the fact that the air being sucked in isn't truly what it would be like in a real world situation? I mean...colder air is denser than hot air, thus more hp. No? Thats just what I thought...maybe I'm wrong :\

Then that would mean ANY filter would work...any questions? Regardless of what it was on.

well ive seen these "big fans" and uh...nothing close is what I can say lol. Imagine having your head by the front bumper while cruising at 60mph! thats nothing compared to the fans they use when dyno testing.

I've installed the JWT filter and air dam. I beleive it's sucking cold air from the same place the stock box breathed from only a lot more of it. I am very pleased. I will also note that you get an extra 1-2 mpg and it makes the engine sound wicked, with other mods of course. I've installed an Airaid intake/filter on my truck and it also sounds more aggressive and gets an additional 3 mpg! Yes, better throttle response from both vehicles. Feels like you're going faster anyway

id get the JWT popcharger...i have a ings kit and there is already a slot for the intake so why bother with more piping and money? either way for me...air goes directly into the filter.

How's HKS Suction Intake compared to JWT and Injen? Anyone here has any problem with HKS intake?

i havent seen many Zs with an HKS intake on them...maybe because they're close to $350 for pretty much just the filter...where as the JWT is only $120

If the newbie may step in tell me what you think of this:

My Nissan Pathfinder had an air intake tube (factory) that was in my garage and happens to fit the Z. I positioned it so its inlet is in the front grill at the front of the car and the outlet is directly in front of the filter.

I also just ordered my JWT Popcharger.

Do you all think this is a good idea? I get the normal gains of the popcharger and then I have that plastic tube shooting air straight from in front of the car to the filter.

What do you think?
