I opened my airbox the other day and found this, OMG,

BTW, I have been using K&N filters for over 10 years now, and not one problem, EVA! The key is too not over oil and let it dry for 24 hours!

This is an interesting thread. It shows that the stock airbox is getting very good air flow.

VinUnleaded,

Now you see why I built my own CAI My picture of it in the other thread does work...

I agree, if Oiled properly, you will not have a problem with the MAF. It's not a dipping process... spray/dry and go. I looked at the BLITZ or all wire mesh filter and I can't quite remember what it was, but I think it didn't clean as affectively as the oiled cotton filters. Don't quote me on that though, there was a reason why I didn't go that route and it wasn't $.

You seem to look for good deals. Go with the JWT pop charger and make your own heat shield.

Or if you want to be really cheap...go to ebay, pickup the essentials for a short ram intake, like same conical filter, aluminum pipping, and small aluminum collar/bracket with the four screws right before the MAF sensor. There are package deals out there that offer the two necessary parts..ie conical filter and collor/bracket that attaches where the oem box detaches right before the sensor.

I just ordered the K&N from performance Nissan along with the cleaning (recharge) kit..I will make sure not to over oil it.
Now, I just need to get a carbon fiber tube....

vinunleaded,

ztube is much better than the stock G35 intake tube....however I thought the Z's came with them already....our stock G tube is different and more resitrictive...

Yes, you are correct sorry for the confusion...I guess that makes a good argument for the stock intake!
