True dual will not produce more power. As long as the overall pipe diameter is adequate and equal to what comes off the header/cat in terms of cross-sectional area, you will be fine. True dual can actually hinder gas flow since the greater surface area of the gas/pipe interface will actually lead to more turbulent gas flow, as well as dissipating exhaust heat more quickly making the gases lose energy and velocity.

The Borla makes small gains over the Nismo. But take a look at both in the box if you can. The NISMO is much higher quality. The Borla has a million connections that are held on with clamps. That leaves a lot of places for leaks. I know that a lot of people on the board have the Borla and are happy with it but I would (and did) go with the Nismo over the Borla anyday.
But I really like the Injen straight tip or the HKS. Neither were around when I bought the NISMO.

I like the nismo and stillen exhaust's sound

the stillen weighs 10 lbs more, but has a LOT more torque in the midrange. It also has the most peak hp and tq. It looks ok - pretty stock looking.

the nismo looks awesome, 9 lbs less than stock (19 lbs less than stillen) and has kinda average gains throughout the rpm's

I went with the nismo because even if I really wanted the power and tq numbers of the stillen, it adds weight, looks stock, and really isn't THAT much more powerful than the nismo when you consider we're talking like just 2-6hp/tq more

I had borla before my nismo and thought the borla sounded too quiet and too airy. It didn't have as much guts as the nismo. It sounded pretty mean, but not ANGRY

The droning isn't a problem if you're using the stock cats. If you get high flows or test pipes, though, the freeway drone can get pretty bad, depending on how sensitive you are to it. It was pretty bad for me.

Yeah, coworker of mine has a G35 with a Borla and high flow cats. Inside the car you can barely even hear the exhaust at all. Very quiet. I didn't know if that was just something to do with it being a G35, or if the Borla really is that quiet even on a Z.

Anyone have any experience with the b&b exhaust systems (billy boat performance). They're well known for their exhausts in the porsche world.

B&B Exhaust is a "Y" Pipe back system with no resonator, loud and raspy sounding, sold mostly through dealers. They are located in the greater Phoenix area in Arizona. Nothing special here.

Now - IMO - The new Invidia dual system is the best deal for looks, power, and sound out there. Full polished stainless with burnt look titanium tips.

i have the HKS and RT HF cats this thing is loud, but with the windows up you really cant hear it at all (sounds like stock). no drone at all. its a nismo thing... i think it has to do with how they did the rear resonater...

That could be true. The Nismo does sound pretty close to stock inside the car, *except* at the 2800-3200 RPM range (give or take a few). At those points, it gets quite loud. Unfortunately that happens to be the speed at which I cruise on the highway. That's why I made another post a while back about adding another resonator to the Nismo. Figured it might move the "loud" spot down or up in the RPM range enough that it wouldn't be at cruising speed. I think I'm too chicken to do it, though, so I'll probably just sell the thing.

I agree. My friend has this on his car and he mentioned the drone. I said, "That's what people are *****ing about? That sounds awesome!"

Make sure you get the new version with reinforcements at the welds. I have the first version and it's cracked twice at the welds (on either side of the resonator). I don't know anyone that has the new version but the new bridges they added to reinforce the welds should keep it from cracking. Despite the minor problems I've had I love the Nismo exhaust and won't swap it out!

Isn't that just a b*tch?! That is also the range (2.8k-3k rpm) I cruise at whether on the highway or on the street. It's where the sound is loudest too. I've gotten used to it although I wish it would be a bit quieter. I think it's what has me speeding more lately too. I press down on the throttle to get to another gear in order to quiet the thing down. However, I don't think it's loud/annoying enough to switch exhausts. Be sure to let us know if you'll be doing anything with the additional resonator. I think a lot of people would be interested in that if you do in fact do something with it. I know I would.
