Default New to the Scene

Hey im helping a friend who is new to the scene and so am I. He is looking to get a intake. Just as i am reading i see alot of ppl have intakes with Plenum's and other things. Could some one take the time to explain to me everything that is needed to make a z run good for a intake setup and whats the best setup to get for a 350z. My friend wants to do breathing mods first.

Before anyone lights up the flame gun, I would suggest doing some searches for intakes, exhuasts, etc. You will find that breathing mods will get you minimal gains for the Z. The best setup would depend on what your buddy wants for his Z. You and your buddy should read this post:
