Default Fujitsubo or Nismo

Is there a major difference between these exhausts? I did allot of searching and I could quite find a thread that answered this so i was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I know the Fujitsubo doesn't come with a Y-Pipe and cost the same as the Nismo which does. So again what is the difference?

Thanks in advance Guys.

If you shop around you will get the Fuji exhaust for less than the Nismo. Try www.gruppe-s.com. Give them a call and ask for a package deal like I did.

I got my Fuji along with their house label y-pipe for less than a Nismo. It's an excellent setup as far as I'm concerned.

What are the typical gains expected from the Gruppe Y-pipe plus the Fuji exhaust?

Also how does it sound once you add the cats? Is it too loud or does it sound just right?

Still debating on this set up vs APS.

It seems like the Gruppe Y-pipe looks identical to the Fuji Y-Pipe. Does the JIC Y-Pipe make a huge difference in with this setup.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Its hard to describe the sound . . .I tell people its quiet but dont get the wrong idea. It is more a tuned sound. Exotic if you will. People do take notice and look when I goose it.

I would put the power somewhere between 5-7 hp for the y-pipe and exhaust. About the same as all the others. Lots of weight loss for the Ti though.

Keep in mind this is the Ti version of the Fujitsubo . . . so sound is a little different than the SS version.

I'm running the Fuji Legalis on my Turbonetics ST kit. With the straight downpipe, it sounds great! I'll post some videos this weekend in the FI forums.

I was in the same situtation as you & ended up witht the Fuji setup (Exhaust + Y-Pipe). Don't regret it one bit & it sounds great! The only thing some people feel awkward about is the tips since they are definitely bigger than the Nismo. At first I was thinking "tin can" but after a while it grows on you. Besides, if you add an aftermarket rear kit, you'll be happy you got it since it'll look dinky if you got the Nismo. I think it appears big because without a rear kit, it sticks out quite a bit especially if you're looking from the side.

I think the big tips look good. They're big, but classy. Nothing like a pep boys coffee can.

I'm going to have to disagree. I heard both in person before I made my decision. I think the Nismo sounds better, but it's personal preference of course. Good luck with your decision.

The exhaust look very simaler in design. How could the sound very? Is it because of the design of the muffler on the inside or is it some other factor?

Thanks,

Ruben

Didnt Fujitsubo make the exhaust for NISMO or was that Weldina? That could explain why they sound/look similar.

CORRECT.

The Nismo exhaust is a rebadged exhaust that is manufactured by Fujitsubo. They are very similar, but the Fujitsubo is a little quieter, has larger tips, and doesn't include a y-pipe. They both are awesome sounding exhausts, it just depends on personal taste.

The nismo is a bit louder, but has a tendency to drone at highways speeds.

The fujitsubo is a bit softer, but has a tendency to rasp very slightly with test pipes. Mine has a nice low rumble at idle, but growls when I go WoT. I really like it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Taurran you have been a big help. Reading your post makes me wish we could see the actual spec of the exhaust muffler. Because I really don't think the tips would effect the sound

Actually that is incorrect. Nismo is manufactured by Weldina. There is a weldina badge on the muffler.
