jackstand placement under the car
Hello, I'm installing a cat back exhaust and would like to know where to place the jack stand underneath the car... If you have pictures, that would be nice.
Here's a picture of the underside of the 350Z if you want to point it out to me with a reference:

Thanks in advance

Look at your owners manual in the section on jacking up the car to change a tire. It indicates the two jack points along the side of the car. In the Maintenance section on how to perform an oil change, they recommend jack stands at the jack points for supporting the Z.
You will need some type of adapter for some jack stands as the jack points are along the joint of the bottom and side skirts. You need either a block of wood or hard rubber with a groove cut into it. The body joint must fit into the groove so it doesn't get crushed.

Man, you rock! thanks so much, where did you get that? is it in the service manual?
But sadly, I just notice it tells you where to place the jacks... not the jack stands... unless you have that adapter.
here is an example of a jack stand placement:

I jsut wish I knew where he put those jack stand.

I made my own adapters out of 1" thick rubber blocks about 3x3" square. I cut a 1/4" groove in them so they slide over the raised flange.
The jack stands are the "safety stands" referenced in the diagram.
You can download a copy of the service manual from http://carfiche.com/manuals/

Update: I broke down and took it to a exhaust shop.
The bolts connecting to the cats where insane, I could only get 2 out of the 4 bolts off. For anyone traying this, make sure you have an impact wrench or a torch to heat up the bolt.
Maybe it's the climate that I'm in that has rusted the bolts on so strongly, oh well.
