You can convert any cold air to short ram if you don't mind cutting the pipes. Otherwise the AEM and 3 piece Nismo can also be converted easily.

Don't do the Injen short ram. It has no heat shield so you suck in hot air. Plus the idle drop was starting to annoy me. After I went back to stock, I couldn't be much happier with a smoother and consistent ride.

Why don't you just buy a short ram?

because I want to use Short ram in the winter, so I wont have a change of getting water in to the engine. During Summer I'll use CAI. Summer is hot here at where I live.

After putting on an aftermarket front bumper, I couldn't get to my AEM air filter w/o removing the bumper or taking the wheel well off. So what I did was convert the CAI into a "pop charger". I cut off a 2" piece from the tube, bought a pop charger heat shield, and made my CAI into a pop charger.

I noticed no difference in performance, but I do hear the air filter more!

Here's a pic of it w/ the old filter (I have since replaced it w/ a K&N cone-tipped filter to take advantage of air coming from the opening in the front.
