I have recently bought an 04 Roadster with the factory exhaust. I am trying to make up my mind if the muffler is already "shot". The car only has 16,000 miles on it but the muffler sounds as if its ready to take a dump on me. Has anyone had this problem? Or am I just dreaming?

I know it was designed to be somewhat Throaty but ???????

 

Put the car on a lift and look for rust and holes. If you don't find any, the muffler is OK.
