You're not looking at much of a gain in horsepower wise, but a stock intake is like your car is running with a head cold, let it breathe.

First modification for what purpose? Where are you going with the Z? What are your long term objectives? If this a daily driver or just for weekends?

you want performance as in.......stoplight to stoplight? or do you want to track it too? like auto cross and races?

if you want stright line speed....i would suggest...

3.9 final drive gear ($900)
intake + plenum ($300-500)
headers ($300-1000)
exhaust ($400-2000)
lightweight 17/18" wheels ($1500-2000)
tires ($1000)
remove weight from back (free)
LSD if you have base model ($400-900)

umm.....there is WAY more you can do.....like cams, throttle body, pullies, cats, ECU......

my list was simply a starting point
