iirc, its something about harmonics in test pipes that causes rasp. ypipe alone won't cause rasp. hf cats will eliminate the smell for sure, and rasp is greatly reduced.

top bolts at headers much easier to access from top of engine bay with socket extension.
I remember hearing that, but it looks way to tight to get through! Wouldnt you need like a 3 foot extension!?

On my megan racing pipes I had no Hiss, but with my new non-resonated test pipes I get the hiss which is what makes me think it is an exhaust leak. The megan were put on by a shop, mine were put on by me so there probably not all that tight on the top.

get a flashlight, and look down from the back of the engine bay on each side. you'll see the top bolts. more like 2' max. there's plenty of room. trust me, its WAY easier than from below.
if you only hear the hiss as you come off throttle, its normal.

Its a hiss as i come off throttle, as it decelerates while passing 2k rpm.. all other RPM's are normal sounding.

Ok thanks Z_boy ima take a look tomorrow, I to lazy right now!

My hiss is any decel, you just cant really hear it at higher RPMS b/c the engine is loud, but mine is defiantly there when ever I am coasting in gear at any rpm range.

^^I installed my Meagen pipes this weekend, and I am getting the same hissing sound on deceleration. Glad to see this is normal. I was about to jack the car up and start checking the torque on the bolts.

One other thing, 350Zs without cats stink like crazy!!!!! I am accustomed to riding with my windows down, but I have to raise them up now when I come to a stop. Haha!

Either I am use to it, or its just not windy here. I never smell it unless I am behind the car or in my garage.

I didnt have the hiss with my Megan test pipes when my Nismo exhaust was on.

EDIT: It's funny how every one who has the megan pipes puts "resonated test pipes" in there sig!

Haha...I will change it so it says Megan.

The pipes do the job. I just hope they don't crack!

HAHAHA! I was just givin u a hard time!

Some have no problems at all with the megan, some have problems the first day. I guess its just the luck of the draw! Mine lasted a few months be4 cracking but I had the Nismo exhaust at the time which is known for putting alot of pressure on the cats.

Have you guys noticed some smoke coming out of the tailpipes since you installed the test pipes? I was freakin out this morning when I saw this small cloud of smoke behind my car when I took off from a light. I found one thread that says it is normal, but I wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing this.
