The Borla is pretty much the deepest exhaust for the Z you can get. It can seem quiet in-car but it's louder and deeper from outside. Have someone do some drivebys so you can hear it from outside.

bjwooden-

You REALLY need my LaBree resonated test-pipes to go with your new exhausts. No rasp, no CELs, great sound, best quality. Built with an extra bung for a wideband, if you need it. Paid $395, asking $295 plus shipping.
Only used for 2,500-2,800 miles.

+1 for Borla ... you might face some rattling on start up, but it can be fixed easily and its worth it

Borla sounds stock on start up.. when you get on it, it sounds deeper and meaner. just like what it should be from the factory

One of the local Z-guys just put a Borla on his car and it sounds great. Can you believe what exhaust systems cost? Why does everybody have to jack up the price and make them out of stainless? If they used regular exhaust tubing, the price would drop by about one-third. I looked at systems for an S-4 and they offered them both ways: Price difference was $700 vs. $1,100! I'm really happy I bought my APS exhaust at the intro price.....NOT!
I guess you have to pay to play.

I have the Borla, i just put it on 2 weeks ago. Its louder and deeper than stock, i also have kinetix race pipes. It sounds a little raspy at about 3k-4k but is very nice after that. No loud drone at crusing speeds. I installed it myself with the rear wheels on ramps. It was a bit of a pain but I love doing that stuff so it was fun. I give it 2 thumbs up. We will see if it has helped with my 1/4 mile time tomorrow.

I have the Borla TD and It is exactly what I wanted, I wanted an "enhanced" sound of the stock exhaust. I didn't want an exhaust like those people put on civics that totally changes the sound of the car into a fart can.

And I'm glad Borla is the deepest and NOT the loudest. Since I have put in High Flow Cats, the Borla is even louder! If I went with a louder system and installed the HFC, I don't think I could stand the noise. And I'm not even finished with my exhaust system yet, i will be installing headers in the Spring and I'm sure that will make the Borla a bit louder then it already is right now.

EDIT: Oh, and I haven't expereinced any rattling on start up like one guy mentioned.

Nismo... Sounds fantastic, very high quality. But then again, I'm biased.

It's supposed to arrive today or tomorrow. I can't tell anything by listening to sound clips, so we're going to throw it on and hope it's not too loud. I listed the Stillen dual and LaBree test-pipes, but I don't want to let them go until I know I like the new setup. I'll post once I've heard it.
