Strup Header
Did anybody get any real gains from this header?? They claim 12-15 but i just want to know if you could really feel the difference b/c i'm tempted to buy one....thanks for the replies!!!
I posted my results a few months ago. I gained almost 20hp and 20lb/ft at the wheels! I also noticed a huge gain on the butt dyno. I definately recommend them. They do take a long time to install but I think it was well worth it.

As we speak mine Strups) are being installed. I am taking my Z over to Daytona next week to have it dyno-tuned. I will post the results once I get them. I do not have a baseline run, but can't imagine it would much better or worst than most that have been previously posted. My run will be will all mods listed in my signature....we'll see if the time and cost was worth it.

+1
My Z loves the Strup headers. Highly recommended. Hit up Partshippers.com

I got'em, I like'm...I like'm a lot. If I had to do the install over again..I would. Although the 1st time took me over 6 hours...mostly resting and contemplating on executing our work on removal of the old manifold. isntallation of the Strup Headers were a cinch!!! next time? I would estimate 3 hours...maybe less if I did the install again.
It depends on how you look at things, horsepower gains is a positive, ease in installation is another plus. the grin factor says it all.

This may be a stuid question, but can anyone tell me how much of a performance gain there will be by replacing the stock exhaust at the same time as the headers? From what I've seen, the performance gains on aftermarket exhaust systems seem to be minimal at best, but I'm wondering if you get a better improvement by combining the two than just installing one or the other...sort of a "the whole is better than the sum of it's parts" kind of situation.

I recommend that if you are gong to be under the car installing headers, may as well replace everything at the same time (depending on your budget of course). If you look at a catback exhaust system, you may be paying $125/1 peak horsepower.
As mentioned several times before, modifications may not gain peak horsepower, but may improve horsepower-torque thoughout the RPM range.
“The whole is better than the sum of the parts” is debatable, and might be worthwhile to start another thread. I say yes.
