Default Test Pipes

What are the best test pipes out there?? Do you still get enough back pressure using test pipes?? Is there anything else involved in putting them on besides taking off the cats and putting them in?? And is there anyway to stop the check engine light from coming on, b/c that will bother the hell out of me if it does.

Apparently you can get something called non-foulers that will keep you from getting a CEL. That's what I'm going to do when I put my test pipes on.

I found a thread on another website about the foulers. this is what it said...... (HELP! Spark plug non fouler. Part 42002 for 3.99 from autozone.
They are a 2 pack. Get two packs and drill 2 of the nonfoulers out with a 1/2" drill bit. screw the NON driilled nonfouler into the test pipe. Then screw the DRILLED nonfouler into the non drilled fouler - install your o2 sensor into that. You will be SES light free and it will cost you less than $10 and about 1/2 hour of time.) .......Does that sound right to everybody, b/c it sounds to good and easy to be true to me. What do yall think??

Me? I'm not selling labarees. I actually want a set. I had megans and I sold them cause they smelled but i figure i was just being a *****. I loved the sound and gains though. The stock location is at 3 oclock rite? As long as they're facing up. Megans were at 5 oclock and w/ the help mod the o2 bung was 2 close 2 the floor for comfort.

Sold my resonated labrees for 1 reason. I got APS nonresonated test pipes for 200 and sold my labrees for 300. I didn't need resonators anymore because my turbos muffle the exhaust note plenty. I can swap test pipes in about 15 minutes, so I switched them out and put 100 bucks in my pocket.

Labrees are 2.5" piping just like the APS non resonated. Labrees can also come with an extra bung welded in for a wideband.

I have installed helix test pipes and they are nice, but only 2.25" piping. Kinetix are a joke and wouldn't put them on my car if they gave them to me for free.

How are the Megan resonated pipes?
I'm trying to decide which brand to get, not sure if I want resonated ones or not.

Also, how difficult to install? Tools required?

You get what you pay for. There were a lot of people that bought them, some have reported cracking. I believe them to only be 2.25" piping. I woudl spring for the APS or labrees.

Install isn't too bad. need a buddy to help you unless you have access to a lift or air tools. If doing with hand tools, have a lot of extensions to reach the nuts from the engine bay- search the forums, there is a little how-to with pics floating around.

Cool, thanks...I'll go start the searching. If anyone comes across it please leave a link in this thread.

How much are the APS or labrees? I don't want to spend more than I have to.

Hmm, a shop up the road has a used set for $100, the guy I was talking to said they were Borla but I can't find any Borla test pipes online. I think he may have been mistaken.

I'll check out the APS though, not much more expensive.
