Which is a more economic and awesome sounding Ti exhaust set up thats sounds the way im intending?
Droping 1500-2000 on an exhaust is dumb

Those universal mufflers that they clamp onto the back of every Honda CIVIC seem to do the job.

Go with Nismo... Florendo is your man $800 shipped!

I considered a few exhaust, stillen, borla, injen, evo II and nismo. I liked the sound of all of them, each different, but still mean.

Borla, to many complaints with leaking
Stillen, heavier than stock
Injen, just plain loud because of small resonators
Evo II, nice all around, except you have to move a component to get it to fit.
Nismo, more aggressive stock sound, lighter, improved air flow, 10x better looking, less joints than the others, no fitment issues...

a great reference...

ps yea, i just recieved the Nismo for $830 shipped

I have heard Nismo, Injen, Apex'i almost all of them out there.

HKS w/ test pipes provides the highest pitch i have heard. The note is also exotic sounding.

I haven't personally heard Amuse. I heard the videos and thought it sounded no different than any other exhaust out there, but you have to hear the sound up close and personal. Many say in person it is uber exotic and unique.

Either way HKS is in top of one the highest pitched. I'm in love with the HKS sound.

once again hks is not high pitched or even higher pitched, i dont know where these people are getting this.. nismo is your best bet bud if you want cheap and higher pitched. secondly $2000 is not that much for an exhaust. if you think it is, look at exhaust for the m3. those prices are out of this world.

the M3 is a different car than the Z
It is far more costly tuning DTM than JDM
and i'd accept paying 3000 dollars for a custom M3 exhaust
but for JDM there are more tuners and more selection thus more competition to drive prices down and i'd expect to payless for JDM than DTM

Ok I personally haven't heard the HKS in person but as many as said... it has a Porsche tone to it. Generally Porsches don't have that high pitch sound like a Ferrari or Lambo unless its a CGT. Now I have heard the Powerhouse Amuse Ti in person and its the most closest thing we can get our Z's to sounding like a Ferrari. Now the guy had the TN ST kit on his car so his exhaust tone was quieter than normal but it still sounded SWEET. Also there is that new 5Zigen Proracer exhaust. Its pricey but not like the HKS or the Amuse one but I have heard it on Tony's car from PN and it sounds very exotic as well. But J I think your best bet would be Nismo with test pipes. Its just an amplified stock Z sound, and when I first got the car I thought the stock exhaust was exotic enough.

i agree that they are different cars obviously. but it drives me nuts when people B1tch about throwing down money for quality parts like they drive civics. i am by no means rich either, i saved for 6 months to get the HKS... my best advice to you would be to listen to as many as you can find regardless of price, figure out what you want, and go for it. even if it is 2000+ dollars, it will be something that will be on your car as long as you have it. also chances are if it is expensive, it is probably rare and will draw a higher price if you decide to part out. for now, if you need an exhaust fix go with the nismo, it sounds really nice, the only thing that turned me off about it was that it resonated in the cabin a little. the hks on the other hand does none of that, i suspect that is part of the reason that it cost so much more. good luck with your purchase, hope this helped! =)

I've been sitting on the fence with this too. I also want to find a ferrari-esque sound as well. I've listened to every exhaust via vid clips in the forums, and heard the Invidia, Nismo in person.

The sound closest to meeting my desired outcome is the Nismo with HF Cats. This was the right tone, and under Full throttle it sounded great. After all of the procrastination I'm picking up the Nismo. Then I'll either pick up the HF Cats, or remove the secondaries in my OEM Cats.

Since you're dropping a grand on the exhaust it's worth the all the time researching, go to all of the forum posts with clips and listen.

I should also mention that the Amuse Ti has the right sound as well, but I personally can't shell out 2g's on an exhaust.

Try and find a clip of the Nismo with the HF cats that has good sound.
