Default questions on SSv install

I just got my SSV yesterday. I was going to install it today but decided to wate for these reasons. If you have answers I would be very thankful. (and I did try searching). I have heard of people stripping the threads on the block so i need to know the proper torque specks on the bolts. And from what I understand (I might be wrong) You need to reset a sensor or something. I had planned on unhooking the battery for a wile to reset the ecu. If there is anything else you guyes think I should know please fill me in. I didnt receve any instructions with it I dont think I should need them but the above info would make life a little easier and safer.

While you didn't get instructions, I assume you got the "T" tool Kinetix sends out with the SSV to tighten the bolts? You are not going to be able to get a torque wrench on the bolts. If you could, it would be 9-10 ft. pounds. The bolts on the passenger's side are the hardest to install. They are hard to start! Be careful not to cross thread. Get the ones on the passenger's side loosely started before moving to the rear, front and driver's side. Install with cold engine. Don't try to see how much muscle you can put on the "T" tool.

Stagger the tightening, but do it in the following order: 1. Center nut, closest to the firewall. 2. Center nut, closest to the radiator. 3. Bolt, driver's side, closest to the firewall. 4. Bolt, passenger side, closet to the radiator. 5. Bolt, driver's side, closest to the radiator 6. Bolt, passenger side, closest to the firewall. 7. Center bolt, driver's side 8. Center bolt, passenger side. NOW: using same order go back and recheck.

I did the testing on the Kinetix IM "prototype" and SSV prior to release. I found installing the SSV easier than the V1 thru V4. To be safe, you can disconnect the battery, I didn't. If you have any other questions, send me a "PM"! Good luck, enjoy and "Happy New Year"!

This is going to bring ALL sorts of comments. While I don't work for Kinetix, my opinion might be considered bias. As I said in my previous post, I did the "Forced Induction" testing on the prototype and final product prior to release. Don't know if you are NA or FI, but my RWHP exceeds 400. In addition, it does look good.

While you will see mixed reviews and comments on numerous threads and posts regarding cost and looks, you might want to do a search. There are a lot of dyno charts posted. I started in 4/10/2005.

U might want to tell them b/c its a long one that u need about 1.5 feet. Some bolts are hard to reach.

Robert Luther is a busy man, took him a while to respond to emails. You're better off calling him (it is new years day..give him a break). He will eventually come to ur help.
