Default AAM Spacer!

hey guys, i;ve been searching for people having the AAM spacers but no luck. Most the members in this forum have the motordyne spacers. I got a really good deal on the AAM spacer and i just want to know how they perform. For those members that have or had the AAM spacer, whats ur opinions on the performance with the mod? I have a couple days to make up my decision. Its either the motordyne 5/16 spacer or the AAM spacer.

Any help will be aprriciated... Thanks...

If u have anything negative to say, keep it to urself and go to the next thread.

I've got one and I have good reason to believe that it has increased power a small amount.

The only problem with it is the clearance issue. As you know the front is 1/2" whereas the Motordyne is only 5/16". I should would like to have those other 3/16ths back. I have the Isothermal gasket from MD and that raised the plenums by about 1/16". My strut bar rubs on the hood and I have only a little over 1/16" clearance between the top of the plenum and the bottom of the strut bar.

I have the AAM spacer. Butt dyno feels like more power. Ended up with enough clearance between strut bar and hood so they do not rub. With pop charger, plenum spacer, high flow cart and true dual exhaust the power increase is there and the sound is great.

Go with the AAM angled spacer...

It gives you the best of everything. It corrects the slope of the stock plenum and allows you to retain the OEM strut bar.

The motor growled after installing it! It changed the way the motor responded when when getting on it. It felt like it had much more torque.

+1, I don't regret going with the angled spacer.

i shouldnt worry about fitment right cause i know its 1/2 in the front. I dont want the strut bar to rub on the hood.

felt the difference right away when installed, engine pulled harder more responce and a different tone. def go with the aam good product.I don't have a strut brace but they do send you spacers to add to the strut bar if needed.

what if you dont want to keep the stock strut bar? isnt there a 1/2 that takes it out? or have they developed a new one that is that height but keeps the OEM bar??

Put my AAM spacer in myself in Sept. Spacer install was real easy, just make sure that you use an INCH/LB torque wrench when re-installing the bolts. The strut bar was a bit more work to get proper clearances, but nothing major, just adding/removing spacer washers at the bolt locations as needed. I'd give it a thumbs up.

you say it adds a growl. is this to the exhaust note, or up front? also those with pop chargers does it make the whistle louder?

alright..i went with the motordyne 5/16 spacer with iso-thermal gasket. Sportzmagazie rated the motordyne for highest gains. That jus helped my decision. Dont get me wrong, the AAM spacer performs well but the 5/16 performs a lil better. Thanks for the replys guys! I appriciate it!

Exhaust note is louder. No difference in pop charger whistle.

i would trust sport z, but i would also take it with a grain of salt. check peoples dynos, not one magazine article before you decide. magazines tend to be biased for one reason or another. (i have neither but am in the market) just some advice, take it or leave it.

I agree with NOBI, the spacer is all about more air volume generated thru the intake.. this is why the AAM spacer is tapered to equalize the air volume with the rear cylinders. More is better in this case!!!
some whow I get the feeling that you did not do your homework...Good luck with your choice
