does any one have a video with the popcharge? where can i get it?

This topic, Intakes, has been beaten to death. I've been on this forum for just a little over 3 months and have figured out the answer to this just by re/searching. I've never seen so many post about intakes before and I've owned a Civic & Evo 8 before the Z. Here is what is comes down too:
Popcharger: Gains are nice, Cheaper than CAI, Awesome Sound gained. Downside: sucks in heat from engine bay
CAI: Gains are nice, Sucks in cold air, Awesome Sound. Downside: Sucks in the rain & Cost more.

 

Don't forget to add in a con for the CAI is getting to the filter to clean it. Just answered a thread on ow to clean the filter. The poor guy has just realiazed cleaning the filter from a CAI is a bit more work then the popcharger.

 

Iv had the k&n system on mine..... sounds really awsome in the 4500-6 range, i can hear it over my exhaust system... they even have a nice space for the mass air sensor

 

why do they call the jwt popper ram air. its located behind the front end so how could air be forced or rammed in. its only sucking the air behind the front end and engine bay. corect me if im wrong. if a varis duct or similar then yes ram it is.

 

It's just a sales tactic, and a good one at that. It's not any different than any other CAI. And RAM air induction is pretty useless at regular driving speeds anyway...

 

it would be impossible for rain to hydrolock with the injen. underbody panel covers the unit. only the grill , but man you would have to drive in a lake. no way rain. only con is cleaning the thing

 

HKS baby. I loved it ever since i got it.

 

took me a freakin whole day to clean the AEM CAI.. using K&N recharger.. its a pain taking it out.. takes awhile to clean.. dry.. oil.. reoil.. all that and now i have to avoid big water puddles.. switching to JWT popcharger soon

the swoooshing sound from CAI cannot be replicated by Ram air... ....
i think that swooshing sound is pretty sexy...
thats why i chose CAI over ram air

 

still recovering from my header installation fee.. not gonna be able to afford 50$.. Cali doesnt rain much.. ill hold on to this as long as possible. With headers and exhaust.. i cant hear anything from engine anymore i miss my VQ sound..

 

i/h/e should make the car sound pretty intense...

 

Only thing about the HKS is you have to replace the filter every 2500 miles. I got one on my Eclipse. God it flows better than anything out there.

 

Why can't the filter be washed and oiled? It is a sponge filter correct?

 

2500 miles is kinda pushing it... id replace the filter element once i see visible signs of dirt buildup on the outside of the yellow sponge... 1k miles and still clean... but then again, the cars been in the garage for a while. hehe.

 

It'll fall apart if you try washing it... it's foam.

The 2.5k is per HKS.

 

How much are those filters? And as an aside, how hard is it to install the JWT Popcharger? Can anyone do it ?

 

as long as u have some tools and some fundamental knowledge, POPcharger is installable.. I couldnt take off a bumper before.. and with a jack and a screw driver i installed my AEM CAI.. and that was much more complicated than pop charger

 

Approximate install time for a noob on the Popcharger is what, 20-30m? How about an AEM CAI? It rains a lot here though ...

... but it's also pretty hot in the summer ... very very very hot ...
