Bump.
Okay okay, i know this is a REALLY old thread, but i figured its better to do this than make a new one and get flamed.

Anyways, right now i have MR tp's or hfc's(im not sure) but am wanting to change them with maybe some Z1 tp's.

I am well aware that it is known tp's give better gains but more rasp/noise.

I recently installed a magnaflow xpipe onto my hks exhaust(does wonders for rasp and sounds amazing but toned it down) and want to know if the tp's will make it louder/bring up the volume of the iconic vq sound but NOT add rasp?
Thanks!

Adding test pipe almost always results in some rasp especially up high.

So let me get this straight. You have the xpipe with the HKS cbe but it's paired with OEM cats or HFC's?

I'm getting the xpipe installed on my HKS replica cbe soon. I have TopSpeed resonated TP on right now. The exhaust is very loud. Hopefully, the xpipe tones it down.

I'll let you know.

Default Sound quality

I have a header back borla stainless exaust with test pipes. I feel and most feel it sounds mean and aggressive. I was considering berk tech high flow cats in place of the test pipes. Is that a good choice. I was told it will add hp and give it a more deep less raspy sound. Any suggestions will be greatly apprrciated.
