Default Bent Tip

I bought a used stillen exhaust (single wall) from the classified section, and UPS decided to put a flat spot in one of the tips. I'm thinking that an exhaust shop might be able to heat it up and fix it, but I'm not sure if the heat will discolor the SS.
So, has anyone had any success fixing a bent tip or have any ideas?

The heat is going to color the metal. I would suggest you take the muffler to an exhaust shop and have them put the tip in the pipe swedge machine. This is the thing that expands the pipe so it will slip over another pipe. Call them first to make sure they can swedge 4" pipe. The swedge machine will make the tip round again.

Crazy thought, but it might work. If it actually discolors after repair, heat up the other side so it will match. Don't flame but, my tips came to mind.

Not sure, but I think the discoloration will be permanent.

Thanks for the ideas. Its going to a shop this week. If they can't get it straight, I'll just have them cut the tips off and weld new ones on.

Maybe they can use the OEM tips. It'll be a sleeper.
