Default Plenum Spacer on '05 Z

Is the addition of a plenum spacer (3/8 in) effective on the redesigned intake on the '05 300HP revup motor, or does the new design negate the need for the intake spacer?

A spacer by itself doesn't work. Nissan fixed the pressure drop problem when they came up with the new design.

Interestingly enough, they still left room for improvement. The redesigned lower collector also has shorter runners that seem to be tuned to tooo high of a frequency.

And this is how and why the MREV was developed. It makes much more gains than just a spacer.

I recently posted a thread with several independant dynos of the MREV PLUS. It makes huge NA gains. The MREV PLUS is by far the single most effective mod you can put on the REVUP engine short of NO2 or FI.
