Nice gains for the price. But I still think the Amuse system will own it.

Not a bad price either. I'm waiting for an ECU upgade before I mod, however.

Avalon Racing is offering it for $ 1,025.00 shipped. Some people mentioned a possible group buy to see if we can get the price down more. Hopefully, something like this is possible. This is now the exhaust system No. 1 on my list. It won't be availble for another 4 weeks.

That looks wrong. This is what Paul from Avalon said it was:

I wonder how loud it is... I hope it doesn't drone on the freeway...

I think it's really important to find out whether you lose low end torque with this system. Most people will be using their cars on the street mainly, and loss of low end torque would not be desirable.

The noise/droning issue at speed is also important.

We need to see a torque/hp chart comparing with and without the system.

Also a good sound file.

From the pic on the stillen site...it looks like it doesnt include a Y-Pipe. My Maximas Y-pipe bolts directly to the manifolds. Correct me if I am wrong, but this system bolts on behind the stock cats making it a cat-back

It is a catback but all of the other systems have been from the y-pipe back, this is the first to offer the entire system including the y-pipe. You can buy a Top Secret true y-pipe for about 700 which makes this system at 1000 a good bargain as long as the y-pipe has been maximized.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? Quite interesting....I too would like to see a Dyno chart and low-end numbers for this sytem. But @ $1k is justified for the stated gains IMO.
What is the Amuse system putting out? Availability?

+11HP for the muffler system (i.e. Y-pipe and back), and +21 for Y-pipe plus muffler. $2295 for just the muffler. I expect the HKS will show similar gains since the design is nearly identical.

The only thing is that the Amuse at 21 was with a y-pipe that also removed the cats, I think we can close to that with a 13+ system like Stillens and a high flow cat system, just have to wait for the price.

One thing to consider is that the Amuse system will not come with the Y pipe just the cat back system. So its quite expensive.

The Stillen system doesn't use a Y-pipe. It uses an X-pipe, which bolts up to the Cats.

The HKS system uses an H-pipe. IIRC, the X-pipe design should perform better.

The Stillen layout is almost identical to the layout of my exhaust. Obviously, the Stillen is different because it is stainless and mandrel bent. They also use a set of resonators, which I have not done. (Juries still out on whether I want to do that.)

Marcus-

Since Saturday, I have been trying to notice where the power comes on. It is so unscientific, but it still feels like the low 3's when power comes on strong. I will say this, I have almost 2000 miles on the car with the exhaust, and until Brad mentioned that he felt like it is was slower that one time, I never noticed any point where it was slower. Does anyone know if this car has per gear fuel/timing mapping? I guess a dyno run with all the gears would solve the 3rd gear question.

If the Stillen exhaust sounds anything like mine on the highway, it is almost imperceptible except when applying throttle. The one thing I suspect it won't have is the raspiness mine has when you get on it. I just don't think Stillen would sell it with that sound characteristic. Thus the resonators. My educated guess is that this will not be a droning exhaust.

I have a short medium throttle clip I will post in another thread. I am trying to get more footage. Damn it if today isn't the perfect weather day for getting some driving in. Unfortunately, the dealership still has my car....doing the tranny and tires.

I will be very interested to see the dyno sheets, and hear this exhaust.

I was told the Y-pipe is included in the package since there is no seperate product number. I think it's worth the $2.2k.

Hmm nevermind, I just saw it doesn't come with Y-pipe. That's wierd because I was told it did, oh well. But if it still makes 21 hp it is definately worth $2.2k. But right now I am going to concentrate on CAI (going in as soon as it arrives) and hopefully TEIN suspension w/ EDFC in a month or two, depending on how much money I can save.
