best headers for the z?

Default best headers for the z?

k guys need some input.. which headers would you recommend cuz im bein told a million different companies and need to narrow this down ... any thoughts or headers youve had installed your really happy with?

if you have the money - Crawfords are the best

If you have a limited budget, get the Strup or Topseed.

personaly, i would spend the money on unichip. 20+ hp gain guarranty or money back.

If money is no option, I would say to get the Crawford headers... around $1200. If money is somewhat of an issue, I think probably the Strup or Alphawerks are probably some of the best middle priced ones.. around $500-600 maybe. Lastly, if you dont have a lot of cash to drop, I would say to get the Topspeed headers. Thats what I am running and they are copies of the DC Sports headers. I paid $230ish for mine. They are stainless and not ceremic coated. I believe the pre-release dynos showed around 10-12 RWHP gains on a stock motor for the Topspeed ones.

Whats wrong with the ceramic ones? I have had them for a while now with no problems. It's not like you get more HP from the SS ones.

That what TED at Scoot Performance (Unichip certified dealer) in SJ told me. He said he will do a dyno before and after. If i don't get that much gain of hp, i don't have to buy the unichip.

You have unichip, what is your hp gain?

Dunno, cams & Unichip and everything were all done at the same time, except for E/I. Ted sais 290 whp on the Dastek now.

topspeed is a copy of strup which is a copy of dc which is a copy of nismo. (with alphawerks being a copy of one of them too, haha)

don't forget that with Crawfords, the install cost will be double because of the complexity of their install.

Crawfords shouldn't be double the install cost. They might be a bit more work to fit them in, but nowhere near 2X the price. Also, the DC, Strup, topspeed, ect are NOT copies of nismos

They have a similar design, the biggest diffrence I see is being in the collectors.

xerd. long tube headers are superior to a shortie. that is if you dont have carb testing in your state. if so, then crawfords are the best by far.
