Default EVO-R air duct install problem?

Hi chaps, just a quick one: I have recently headed an all italian group buy for the duct (non varis type) and people here are experiencing fitment issues. I have been in touch with Jay and this thread is by no means intended to be an encouragement to avoid EVO-R products...it's just an enquiry with you guys and nothing else...Jay gives good customer service without a doubt...
The problem we are all facing (I still haven't tried on mine yet) is with the hood not shutting flush as it should. The bend on the duct means that a LOT of contact exists between the hood rubber gasket and the duct itself. A couple of pics might help...

The problem is solved by sandind down the bend in order to minimise contact...pics show point of contact and sanded bend...anyone had the same problem with the install? Thanks in advance...
