Default *Immediate* Anser needed Injen CAI

I am installing this right now with a friend. It came with a silver heat shield that says Injen on it. It looks nice but where the heck does it go? Was it sent by accident? It has two 12mm bolt holes?

Please post while we work. I don't see this shield on anyone elses and P.S. How can we get the Filter in without removing the bumper??

The sheild goes over the exhaust manifold......Look down next to the oil dip stick.....unscrew the top to bolts on the factory shield and place the INJEN on top of it and bolt um back down!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my bumper off....it was easier then trying to squeeze in there

Default Thanks

I figured it out but didn't use the heat shield. Can I add it after everything is in place? Is it a must requirement?

It sounds awesome and pulls like hell!

I can't believe this car! I can't wait to get on the Dyno next week and see the true results, this will be a valid test of Dyno results, no other mods have or will be done on the next Dyno between now and the one I just did!

P.S I didn't have to remove the bumper at all.

you don't need it, but the extra shielding is beneficial.

Default Thanks, I just read the instructions

We just started happily thowing it on, he has so much experience hedoesn't even read manuals lol.

Now that I read it I get it, but it turned out perfect. I am gonna try and see if I can still get it on tomorow though without removing too much.

Then post a pic of the Blue for those thinking of one.
I kept thinking of the JWT Pop Charger like protection for the filter from the heat and didn't see any bolts in that area and looked at everyones pics here and didn't see it anywhere either.

We removed the bottom of the car (black plastic) on the driver side ( you know, the area where all the bolts fall lol ) instead of the bumper too so it took about an hour. It looks awesome!

I'm thinking 6 pounds of Torque and 5RWHP (based on my exhaust) honestly! Anything more than that is butter. Cold air in is a good thing. I need colder plugs to for the upcoming N20.
It's never ending and so much fun.

It'd be a pain to put the heat shield on... You'd have to unbolt it from the throttle body and from behind the Mass airflow sensor. The heat shield prevents the metal pipe from heating up, because if you drive your car for a while it'll heat up too much and you'll end up making less power.. (Maybe even losing power?)

I'll check into it tomorow.
