What to watch out for when buying a used exhaust?
I dont think a thread like this was every made. And alot of poeple are willing to buy used exhausts. Me in particular. What should we watch out for?
Im looking at one thats orignially 900+ and the guy is sellin it for 300-350ish. Says its only got 9k miles on it. Looks kind of dirty but its has no cracks or scratches.
Also what should be included when buying a used exhaust? I know the piping and the gaskets... Do you need bolts too? Or can you get those anywhere

I recently bought a used exhaust from another member, and it was in great condition. As far as I know, just make sure there are no dents / dings, and make sure it's in good condition. As far as hardware goes, if it's not included you can pick up nuts and bolts at AutoZone or the car parts store of your choice
What looks like a good deal could turn out to be a nightmare.
a. Stress fractures. You cannot see them.
b. Was the exhaust tweaked at bit (bent) during the initial install? You will not know until you try to install.
c. How many cars has the exhaust been on? One? Two? Another fact you cannot verify.
Buyer beware.
