Default New Exhaust - Tanabe Medalion Touring

I saw/heard this new exhaust at the Performance Nissan meet. I was definitely loving the sound! VERY deep and exotic sounding, roughly similar to Nismo sound.

It's claim to fame is that it's quiet, has good sound, and still has a performance benefit over stock exhaust. (Intended for N/A only)

Performance Nissan is going to be carrying this exhaust (it might be available now)

And here's the Tanabe site:

In any case, I am seriously considering this exhaust as I love the sound and do NOT want to be getting exhaust citations. Also I don't want to have the same thing as everyone else (ignoring the fact that I have SF Challenges already... LOL)

Cons: The tips stick out a little far past the bumper. About 2 - 2.5".
Also does not include y-pipe... and adding a y-pipe may increase the volume. Tanabe makes a very nice y-pipe as well FYI. Price with y-pipe is about same as HKS hi-power catback.

Has a good look to it, the style does not stand out very much like the HKS "bling-tips" or other similar fancy tips.

Any others considering this exhaust? Maybe I'll be the guinea pig on this one... just need to decide whether I want to commit or not. I was looking at the Greddy EVO2 but I do not want to relocate my evap canister... I think the tanabe one should install without modification.

Edit: If you're looking for a new exhaust, Stillen is also making a new exhaust that has the tips in the center. They sell a rear valence to go with the new look (tips in the center would obviously not work with stock bumper...)

imo... SMR is a great exhaust, sounds loud *** hell but is sure exotic-ish...
i am not sure about this new 'touring' exhaust...
have you heard it in person?
hmmm i just got nismo and i cant say its deep or quiet but its ferrari-esque with TP's
to me nismo is like 2000-3000rpm = ricer style deep loud
but anything more than 4000rpm to redline = ferrari
then the exhaust has this exotic cough once it hits rev limiter/fuel cut off

......................................................... read before posting kthx

Again, I'll emphasize that this Medalion Touring is DEEP and relatively QUIET. It reminded me of the Nismo, but is not a nismo clone by any stretch of the imagination.

The Tanabe representative explained to me that they have one of two goals in mind... for racing exhausts the sound is barely dampened (should be screaming loud). whereas for their street exhausts they keep the sound levels below 93dB. So don't expect the touring to sound anything like any tanabe racing exhaust you might've heard...

They have sound clips available on their website...

Just a great sounding exhaust IMO.
