Default Borla TD + Kinetix HFC

Just got done having my Kinetix HFC's installed. Had my Borla TD installed this past Sunday. The car sounds like a whole new animal. The car pulls much harder and the sound is somewhat similar to stock but with a much deeper tone when idling or crusing. At WOT it just rumbles and screams almost like an exotic V8. I love the new sound and the butt dyno loves the gains. All for $640 installed too! Gotta love the classifieds section. I'll be installing my 5/16th MD with iso and UR Crank pulley tommorrow, I can't wait. Ill report back when its done.

Welcome to the club

Although I find the Borla + HFC doesn't sound anything like stock anymore. It's like a beast now. Not like a honda fart can beast, nor one of them alarm set-off noise maker beast. It's just an agressiving sounding exhaust now. I can only describe it as a "growl" or a "roar".

I'll be installing my MD ISO 5/16 as well, maybe in about a month when it warms up.

had the UR pulley installed, love it so far, car revs a bit quicker now it seems. the spacer i was going to install did not have a gasket included. Jason at performance nissan fixed this issue with any hassle. I hopefully I will get it soon and have it installed. Next up Strup headers and a nice reflash, then I'm done with perfomance mods, at least I think I am.

Glad you are still enjoying the exhaust. At the rate you are going you will have all your engine mods done in 1 week. Now you need a BBK to compliment those wheels.

Rick, you bastage! Dont tempt me man! I'm spending more on this car then I ever imagined. Sigh, I really do need a BBK. For some stupid reason, I want a double din dvd player now, sigh. I guess I'm gonna give my credit card another work out soon.

Did you find the hardware for the cats or just have it installed regardless? You should really get the car dyno'd with A/F ratio.

never found the hardware but the muffler shot had plenty of nuts and bolts laying around, they did a great job making due with what was available. I'll be taking the car to JoTech in Garland to have it dyno'd and see how lean I'm running.

Already had the Borla, just added Kinetix HFC's and Alphawerks headers. I can hear and feel the difference.

I just picked up a set of Kinetic HF cats from Coz at Concept Z Performance. I will be putting them on this Friday. I already have the Borla TD, plenum spacer and UR pulley.

From the great responses I am really looking forward to having this done.

Was the Borla TD the exhaust that seemed to loose some power in the Z or was it their single exhaust?

I have had bad luck with my Fuji exhaust. It has cracked welds, weak flanges, etc. I am looking for a replacement and had the Borla highly recommended by the local exhaust shop I have used to repeatedly repair the Fuji.

Zero loss. More gain on horsepower then torque which is to be expected.
