you can use the K&N recharger kit. you can find it in any parts store. the only differece will be the change on the color from blue to red. read the instructions before you start. you'll be all good.

I spray my intake filter with WD40. Members have admonished me a dozen times.

I think I would stay on the safe side and just buy an oil designed for cotton gauze filters, If your going to spend the money on the filter why not spend ten bucks to make sure it filters properly. I think the filter oil has a certain weight and tackiness to keep it on the cotton and trap dirt and not just get sucked through to parts like your air flow sensor which is not cheap to replace. AFE filter oil is actually designed not to harm your sensors. As far as solvent based stuff like WD-40 I personally would NOT use it but I'm not gonna flame anyone for trying something different. I read somewhere its not good to clean your filter too often as well just re-oil it. I'll try and find the article but it said K&N's were junk after something like 5 cleanings because the holes in the pleats became too enlarged to properly filter.
