Exclamation Test pipe mod Vs. Police!?

Ever thought about fitting a sheet metal that resemble catalytic converter cover that covers up the test pipes

REGULAR test pipes

the catalytic converter

Get that plate on to the test pipes to make it look like real cats!?

I thought of this to mainly to pwnzor cops who try to the mirror on ur car to see if you got cats.
Cops should definately try to catch real criminals like rapists and murderers than **** blocking ppl about some cats on a new car...

Are you going to spot-weld them to keep them from rattling?

This seems pretty unncessary. If you're driving around on the street with something SO LOUD that you actually get pulled over, you are doing something wrong. Suck it up and take the ticket. Not very many people want to hear your foghorn of a car anyways.

well... down south no one gives a f*ck...
here in north east there has been sparce mirror incidents
and of course in CALI, people get **** blocked all the time...
just takes that one nosey cop and it would ruin your investment on the test pipes and chop a leg off of your mod money...
...
i thought of this as a preventative idea...
... my nismo exhaust is perfect in terms of volume

Your car is still going to smell (something they will know just following you) and if they suspect you have gutted your cats they can still send you to a ref... and the ref will laugh.

Nice thought on the secret dummy cats, but i do beleive they add weight, just keeping the regular tp or doing custom aluminum should be fine? on the cop vs. you ticket thing, i believe it depends on if they wanna go down low on, the already oh so low Z p.s. turn off your car before the cop walks up to the door

Will this DIY mod get as much power as test pipes or hfc? It would be awesome if it is...

no cuz stock cats piping is 2" as well as stock exhaust pipings...
aftermarket test pipes are at least 2.5"...
you cant enlarge the piping in the stock cats by hollowing it out...

Lots of awesome cars over here on the west coast and anything goes. No DMV inspections. Yet... As far as cops go... Well, if your driving around in the wee hours of the AM and your making a spectical of yourself then they may ticket you for disturbing the peace or something but that's about it...
