The price alone would worry me about overall quality of the components, not that it has to cost $1,000 to be worth it, but a muffler that size, built properly, should cost almost $200 by itself if not more.

I bet the system sounds different every few days over the next few to several weeks and likely gets louder and drones over the next month. It'll likely get loud and trumpet when the car gets hot and is driven for long periods as well - then the silencers will come in handy.

Do let us know how it goes. The traditional system, with smaller piping going into 4" or larger tips, is a really bad argument though...this system isn't any different - hey it's got a 5"-6" resonator housing reducing to a 4" silencer/tip combo?????

Here's some pics and clips of a new system coming up as well...the sponsorship is being done this week and the group buy should happen this week as well. More info coming.

Actually, I've had the PIT exhaust on my car for 3,000 miles and it performing perfectly. It still sounds great, it still looks great, it was a fantastic buy. In fact, this exhaust would have been a great buy at $500. I personally think too many people get caught in the trap of "how can anything inexpensive be any good" Both Rolex and Seiko make great watches. Does one cost 10 times as much? (Rolex) Does one keep better time? (Seiko) Why do people pay more for the Rolex? Not because it works better. Pay your money for function or for brand name. Your choice.

Someone clear this up with me: what is the issue with getting an exhaust that is this inexpensive? I'm guessing performance increases won't be as high as most $800+ exhaust systems. But will build quality be bad? Seems like the build quality is quite good, especially for being so cheap. I know I'm being stingy, I should go out and get a Nismo or Greddy exhaust, but I just don't feel too comfortable laying down that much money right now.

The build quality is equal to any aftermarket exhaust I've seen. (and I've seen many of them in person) Example, the Stillen exhaust is a beautiful, high quality piece, but its materials and quality of construction are no better than the PIT.

I just ordered the PIT exhaust from eboostonline.com. I paid $299.95 with shipping to Cincinnati. I've never ordered anything this inexpensive, but with the reviews you guys provided I figured what the hell? Nothing wrong with getting bang for your buck!

I've had my PIT exhaust on my car for about 3,000 miles and absolutely love it. Looked a little funny on the back of the car at first, but I love it now...not mention, I've received numerous compliments on the look and the sound of it. Install was very easy with only a minor modification to made to the evap canister housing (1 minute with a Dremel). Great fit otherwise. Sounds very nice, but has a mild drone at startup, which goes away after driving for about a minute or two. I would highly recommend this product to any fellow Z owner.

So it drones a bit at idle? Or is it really only for a minute at startup? And does it drone cruising in 6th on the freeway? And how does it sound at WOT?

Mine doesn't sound any different at start up than it does after a two hour drive. It is as quiet as stock at 70 mph. However, as with any exhaust there are some RPM's that are a little "resonate". This isn't like a Mustang with Magnaflows. I don't have to change the volume on the radio. It's just NOT a problem.

i think if you take a cutting tool and cut some of the extended tips off it would look alot better and sit flush with the rear bumper..

I have had this exhaust installed for almost 3 yrs now and for the money, you cant beat it. Its not too loud but when you mash on the throttle it sounds pretty throaty and hollow. At first its a little raspy cause its cold but in about 2-3 min its smooth. If you are on a budget, go for it if they are still selling it. I havent been on the forums much lately but I have no complaints about this exhaust. It def opened up some ponies as well by the SOTP meter Just take out the silencers, it looks much better and you dont want those anyway. JMO
