Default o2 sensor question

I had the megan racing test pipes on and didnt install the non foulers. threw a CEL and got annoyed so I finally did the help method but found that the threads were melted on both sensors.

I ordered a passanger side o2 sensor but I needed the drivers side o2 sensor. I wasnt paying any attention when I ordered.

I cant return it since its past the time allowed so I was wondering if there was a way to get the passangers side o2 sensor to work with the drivers side plug. I really dont want to spend another $100+ on another one.

cut and splice it in. Only difference between the two is the plug.

curious how your threads were "melted"

I would think that the sensor was cross threaded in and the threads were stripped.

Ive never heard of that happening thats pretty hot! Would a lean condition cause extremely hot gasses to do that? Or would the piston turn into jelly first?
